Chapter 5: TROUBLE WITH LUNA

"Did you just go out?" – Luna asks when Mia returns to the room.

Mia feels extremely guilty about this, so she immediately admits her mistake:

 “I'm sorry… Did I wake you up?”

Luna smiles and replies:

“No, I haven't been able to sleep since. I just sleep for a few moments and then wake up again. Sometimes it's hard to get a good night's sleep!"

Mia is worried about the girl and asks her why. Luna now confides in Mia about what she had to go through when she came to the Hiddleston house. Because the girl is only the daughter of a merchant, with only money but no status, she is very despised and isolated when she came here. It can be said that if Mia did not come, Luna would be the poorest person in this place. The girl also talks about the power of other clans and feels extremely jealous about it. She wishes she had just had money, power, and beauty.

"No, it is not. You're amazing, like no other, Luna! Everyone here is perfect. You shouldn't be so self-deprecating," Mia comforts.

But even so, Luna just shakes her head, steps on the floor, and walks around the room.

“Someday, you will feel the same way as me. I'm so jealous of you too!"

It is the first time someone has said that to her. Luna is rich and beautiful, why be jealous of a poor person like Mia? Mia also feels confused so she asks the girl again.

“You are beautiful, very beautiful. It won't be a lie when I compare you to miss Lita.”

“No… not at all. Don't say that! Miss Lita is on another level… I'm just a drop of water, how can I compare to her” – Mia is very confused and denies it immediately. She never thought that she would one day become like those noble girls. Especially Lita. In her mind, similar to Luna has low self-esteem, Mia feels that she is far behind that dignified, gentle girl.

Luna then says in a slightly sad voice:

“But it would be great if it could be like miss Lita, right? I've been coming here for 9 months, but he doesn't care at all… Not only me but almost all the other girls here are jealous of that lady. They must have had their duties when they came here.”

With Luna's ambiguous way of speaking, Mia feels very vague. But this time she does not ask, because she noticed that neither Lita nor Luna liked to bring up the matter. Perhaps they all carry in themselves words that are difficult to answer in words. Mia just keeps quiet.

The sun also gradually rises. The first rays of sunlight peek through the crack of the door, welcoming Luna and Mia. Contrary to Mia's excited and expectant expression, the girl just sits motionless on the floor tiredly. Her long hair falls, drooping, her eyes dark circles from lack of sleep. She looks pretty worn out. Mia sees that and feels very sorry for her. In the girl's mind are countless questions about the harshness of this house. After all, what have they had to go through to meet such a situation? Mia is not satisfied, so she comes and helps Luna to the window. Luna is like a doll and lets the girl pull.

Mia points to the other side of the sky, smiling brightly.

"Look! The bright sky is beautiful, isn't it?"

Luna doesn’t answer, then turns her head to the other side, ignoring what Mia is talking about. The girl gently pats Luna's head.

“Yesterday you may have been so sad. But time has passed, let the emotions go along. Every morning when you wake up, just take some time to look at the sky… Hmmm, maybe it will help you relax?” – Mia says in a very gentle and loving voice – “But… you and I are of the same age, is it a bit wrong to rub your head?”

Looking at Mia's considerate and carefree appearance, Luna is both touched and apologetic. But she is forced to embrace her sorrows because if she says something wrong, she does not know it would become her grave. Therefore, she suppresses her true feelings that she has never told anyone, returning to her lovely face and active appearance. Luna says thanks to Mia. After preparing and cleaning, the two go down to the kitchen to have breakfast. Mia is so hungry that she feels extremely excited.

All the other noble ladies have gathered at a large table. There are 4 people in all: Diana, Karina and two other girls Mia whose names are unknown. All 4 girls are like brilliant flowers, exuding a noble aura. Lita is nowhere to be seen, so Mia turns to ask Luna.

"Since she's the highest rank, she has the right to change her schedule, and she won't be having the same meal as us today."

Seeing Mia, Karina is annoyed, but she does not dare to utter a word because the housekeeper is present.

"Hurry up, you didn't eat anything yesterday!"

 “Y-Yes!”

Before eating, at Malcolm's advice yesterday, the housekeeper gives Mia an oat bar. The girl feels quite surprised because this is exactly what John gave her yesterday. She receives in surprise and hatred the eyes of those present.

'Isn't that something only Lita can use? Why does miss Olivia give it to Mia… He hasn't even met her yet?’ – Luna stands beside Mia, staring at the oat bar, thinking.

This oat bar has no taste at all, it's really hard to eat. Mia almost wants to vomit after putting it in her mouth because of its unpleasant scent. She used to love oat products, except for this bar.

"Are you done?"

When she receives an answer from Mia, the housekeeper asks her and Luna to sit at the table to have a meal. But because Mia does not feel comfortable with servants, she asks Olivia to go to the kitchen to help bring the food. She thinks for a moment, then agrees. As soon as Mia gets inside, the strong smell of food rushes up to Mia's nose, just hearing the smell makes her stomach growl. She sees John sitting inside, she immediately greets him. As if he knows she will come, he just smiles back and hands her two plates of hot food. Mia carefully walks slowly, but Karina puts her foot in her way. Mia falls to the ground, two plates of food falling on Luna in front of her. Because it is too hot, the girl screams. Mia with a tense expression hurriedly grabs it with her hand. The heat of the freshly cooked food makes her hands red and blistered. She tears her skirt into a small piece of cloth and hurriedly wipes it for the girl. Luna sobs and pushes her away, just like that she sits in the middle of the food that is strewn all over the floor.

"Do you do it on purpose?"

The housekeeper comes and takes Mia's hand, pulling her to her feet. Seeing Mia's burned hand, she just keeps silent and picks up a piece of ice in her hand.

"I'm fine… Please take care of Luna"

“Are all the peasants that troublesome?” - The blue hair asks Mia.

Seeing the housekeeper only takes care of Mia and not herself, Luna feels pity and anger. She huffs and says:

“I will go upstairs and change my clothes!”
