Ch. 12

We left the hospital together, but I knew I wasn't ready to go back to my dorm. I wasn't sure how I was going to be sleeping there tonight. Memories from yesterday began flooding my brain and I tried to quickly forget them.

Nate did his best to distract me and he was successful for the most part. We hung around the commons at first until people started coming up to me asking questions. It seemed yesterday's events were the talk of the campus. Comments ranged from sympathy to slurs. Nate chased off anyone that was rude by huffing and puffing smoke at them.

"Let's go somewhere less populated" Nate offered and I agreed.

He took us to a fairy trail. It was quiet, peaceful and beautiful here. We watched the fairies in the trees for a while. I made sure to send my timely texts to Charles. He didn't respond once but I sent them just in case anyway. I didn't want him to worry or race out of class thinking I was in danger. An hour had passed and Charles finally responded.
