First Time In A Cell

AFTER THE ARREST

The Lycan King, Harris Wolf watched as Katherine stomped off to her car and opened the back seat door for him but he was more interested in pissing her off.

"I was thinking we could use my car, it would be more spacious and it would award us some privacy since we got a company." He joked, grinning from ear to ear.

"This car is spacious enough for us, so just get the f<ck in!" She yelled, gesturing her to get into the car but he couldn't help but notice the veins in her neck bulging out by his every word.

"Your veins might explode if you keep yelling like that!" He mocked as he finally entered the car.

"Just shut the fuck up, dude!" She scolded, slamming the door before walking to the driver's seat where Jason was already sitting.

Harris was determined to piss her off and talking about the previous night they had together was the best way.

"I understand you hate noise, even last night you were..."

"Please be quiet!" She scolded once again before forcefully pulling Jason out of the driver's seat.

"I can't risk losing my life because of a scared and shaking driver." She lashed at him and entered the car.

"Don't you think this arrest is rude? I don't even know your name? What if you're a fraud?" Harris asked as it crossed his mind that they didn't introduce themselves to him.

"You'll find out if we are frauds when we get to the station!" She answered abruptly before reviving the engines of the car.

Jason was forced to run to join them if he didn't want to be left behind.

The ride to the station was a silent one as Katherine used an earbud just to avoid hearing Harris' rant forcing him to remain quiet since she wouldn't hear him. It was very late when they finally arrived in front of the station and as she tried to step out of the car, she staggered a bit but Jason helped her.

"Are you alright?" He asked and Harris panicked seeing his mate stagger and he hurried out of the car to join them.

"I'm fine, just tired. Call Mom and tell her I won't be home today, then get me real food, I'm starving." She said in a weak tone before dragging him into the station.

"Are you alright?" Harris finally asked worriedly but she rolled her eyes at him and continued walking.

"Detectives!" She called out to two cops she saw patrolling around the vicinity of the station and they came running to her.

"Take him to cell B and guard the cell. Explain to him the procedure for late-night arrest and let me know if something comes up, I will be in my office overnight." She ordered and uncuffed him before they took him away but he couldn't stop staring worriedly at his mate who was not looking well at all.

While Kat hurried to her office to rest and await her food, Harris on the other hand rested in the cell.

He sat quietly in the cell thinking about her accusations. He had a lot of questions to ask but he had to wait for a few more hours until the next day since this was a late arrest.

All through the night, he couldn't get a wink of sleep because he's not used to sleeping on just any bed talk more of a cell bed.

Early the next morning, he saw Katherine walk toward him with full energy and his heart was finally at ease.

This time she wasn't wearing the same clothes. She looked fresh in an army green skinny trousers and a high-neck white T-shirt, with her hair done in a neat ponytail. Guess it was time for the king himself to repeat a cloth for two days now.

"How was your first night in a cell?" She asked, smiling devilishly and feeling fulfilled.

"Well, I couldn't get a wink. Your beds are so bad, you should work on them. Criminals deserve some comforts too." He replied, frowning.

"How is your health now?" He asked but she pretended not to hear his question.

"Get used to it and you'll be just fine." She advised and just then, she turned back as she heard The captain call her name loudly as soon as he walked into the main building of the station.

"Your interrogation will start soon." She confirmed before hurrying to join the others outside.

She walked into the office area and where she heard the captain calling out to her and she rushed over to meet him as every other detective were already gathering in front of him. She met the middle-aged man with thick blonde hair and sterling gray eyes huffing and puffing about the building in his baggy suit and she could tell just how angry he was but the reason is what she didn't know or maybe pretended not to know.

"Where is Detective Reynolds?" The captain asked again, clenching his jaw.

"Captain! Good morning, sir." She greeted but only a scornful look was what she got in return.

"Where is the King?" Captain Sanders bellowed ferociously.

"Oh, he's in Cell B, close to your office." She replied gaily, swinging her hands playfully.

"Are you out of your mind? Go and release him this minute." He ordered but she remained stagnant, paying dead ears to the Captain's instructions.

"Are you deaf or something?" He asked again and she decided to give him a reply this time.

"Sir, he can't be released without a proper interrogation. Do you have any idea what we found yesterday? Aside from the fact that all evidence has always pointed to him, his belongings were found at the crime scene yesterday. He's committed numerous number of murders and I don't think he should be released just like that." She replied, convincingly, and just then, Major Daniels joined them and they all bowed respectfully to him.

Major Daniels was a little bit older both in rank and in age. He is a muscular man and one could tell he was a powerful force to reckon in his younger days. Even though his brown, silk hair now has a hint of gray, he still hasn't lost his streak.

"What's going on here?" He asked curiously.

"Sir, we received a report from the palace yesterday that The King was arrested without a warrant, I assume you might have heard since the Colonel also heard of this." Captain Sanders explained.

"I heard he was arrested but I didn't know it was without a warrant. Why would you arrest the King without a warrant?" He asked, peering his brilliant blue eyes at Kat.

"Uhm...we had tangible evidence. His belongings were found on the site of the murder coupled with the fact that from our previous investigations, his name has always come up in everything, I decided to make the arrest immediately to prevent him from probably...fleeing." She explained even though she knew The king would never have a reason to flee his own pack and for a while, Major Daniels didn't stop staring at her.

"Did you hear that?" He asked, staring at the Captain now.

"But, Sir..."

"Did you hear that?" Major Daniels interrupted, seeking a straightforward answer.

"Yes sir." Captain Sanders replied, rubbing his hand roughly on his face.

"Is that enough reason to not wait for a warrant?" Major Daniels asked Captain Sanders again.

"Yes, Sir." Captain Sanders replied.

"Lieutenant Reynolds!" Major Daniels called out to her.

"Yes, sir!" I replied,

"Carry on with your interrogation. We will be watching you." He ordered and her face brightened up.

"Thank you, sir." She replied as the Major turned to leave.

"Jason, get the interrogation room ready and wait for me there. If you are going to freak out, let me know so I can call on other detectives." She instructed Jason and he smirked at her before leaving.

"Freak out? What does she take me for?" He grumbled as he walked towards the interrogation room.

She hurried back to the cell where The Lycan King was seated.

"It's time for interrogation." She gushed, opening the cell gate delightfully.

Just how long she had waited for this day? For good 10 years, she swore to find him. The gruesome murderer who killed her father and so many others under the full moon and today her lifelong dream might finally come through or so she thought.

"You're so happy about this." He confessed, smiling at her.

If anyone should not smile right now, it should be him because he has murdered people in the most heinous way possible and his smile provoked Kat that she opened the door and walked up to him and holding her handcuff in her hand, she stared into his eyes before uttering another word.

"Shouldn't I be? You killed those people and you're still smiling, I guess..." Her voice trailed off when he gently shoved her to the metal gate and leaned towards her, his firm, straight nose slightly brushing over her small, slightly scooped bridge and an upturned nasal tip.

She felt her heart thumping so rapidly in her chest and she could also hear his every breath.

"Oh, goddess! I can't control these things around this man." She moaned.
