Chapter 1: Past

Hellen and Aminah are best friends and half-sisters, her father marries Hellen’s mother when they’re in junior high. Hellen is outgoing, goofy, and has a lot of friends while Aminah is the opposite of Hellen, she is an introvert. Hellen always points out her attitude of being shy and awkward, but she’s also the only person who will push her to come out of her comfort zone and be a party person like her. She sometimes likes the confidence Hellen is giving to her, although it’s often crossing the line like using her social media to hook up with boys without her consent. As a result, she was labeled as “Flirtiest'' by some boys that Hellen chatted with using her account. But Aminah always lets it slide whenever she’s telling her that it’s for her own good, to build up her network and self-esteem.

Spending time with Hellen, Aminah learns how to be friends and to get along with Hellen's friends. The party, stroll and often cut classes although she drops from being a top student. It puzzled her why she was enjoying it, maybe because she finally has friends to hang out with where she can be free as hell. Everything was just fine, not until Hellen’s crush courted her, Aminah rejects him immediately knowing that Hellen likes him. However, he is persistent, denies rejection, and always shows off in front of her, because of that a lot of their schoolmates think that they’re together and always tease her.

Not long after without any explanation Hellen and her friends ignored her, they gave her cold treatment and excluded her from their circle of friends. She already has a clue that’s why she confronts Justin and distances herself more. She plans to apologize even though there’s no reason for her to do that because she was not used to being on bad terms with Hellen. It made her realize how lonely she is without Hellen; she pities herself but just decided to go on her own. But to her surprise Hellen first approaches her and apologizes, she is not used to Hellen apologizing first. She then learns that Hellen and Justin are in a relationship. She felt happy that she and Hellen are back to normal, but how Justin looked at her whenever they were doing PDA in front of her bothers her.

A long week after she was going home happy as she has the good news that she finally comes back to the top list. However, the congratulation she was expecting becomes a slap from her father who looks so furious, she was confused and hurt. She then saw Hellen and her mother in the living room; looks like she was comforting Hellen while she cried nonstop. Aminah is concerned but she can’t see clearly due to the tears coming out nonstop from her eyes. She then learned that it was said to be her “scandal” and her teacher was spreading it in their school and she was a flirt sister for stealing Hellen’s boyfriend. A lot of fake news was spreading about her, but none of it contained any bit of facts. But what hurts her the most is how her father doesn’t even trust her, Hellen’s lie, and her stepmom's disgusted look.

Everything is a mess, her parents treat her indifferently, she goes to school every day just to receive insults from everyone, and teachers are looking at her with disappointment. Later the head offered her to transfer school in order to stop ruining the reputation of the academy. She doesn’t have a choice as her parents agreed to transfer her. They don’t even give her a chance to explain or defend herself from all the accusations, misconceptions, and lies she received. The last thing she remembered is an evil look from Hellen when her father decided to transfer her to a public school – in the province, where her grandmother is residing.
