Chapter 7- I Don't Hate Tomatoes

Sebastian stood near the window, gazing down at the vast city below, the office drenched in warm hues by the soft glow of the morning sun. I took a breath, standing closer to the threshold and understanding the weight of words left unspoken.

Everything seemed so easy with him, and I felt comfortable with him. Even so, there was an insatiable need in me to explore his mind and discover the complexity that lived there, even despite how simple it was. It was an enormous responsibility to put myself in the shoes of a woman he might have loved. It was difficult as well as terrifying.

My complex emotions darkened as I watched him stare out of the window, my complicated thoughts took a darker turn. Instead of appreciating the view, my mind raced with questions. Was he reminiscing about how he once stood with my sister at this window? Did he recall the touch of his hands on her body as she laid her hands flat on the window? Could he still envision her in this space while I stood beside him, y
