2. Back to Athens

At Arsenio Nakula's residence.

The man's face had been beaten by his mother. Slapped five times, not to mention the curses thrown at him.

The gentle figure of Jane's mother was gone. Her mother never got angry, and when she did, she didn't hesitate to hit.

"Why are you such a bastard, Arsen! You even impregnated a woman. The worst part is, you didn't accompany her when she was pregnant and gave birth. Were you born from a rock, huh?"

Jane's breath was short with anger. Her husband and other children even couldn't move a muscle waiting for the woman who ruled the mansion to calm down.

Everyone respected Jane so much. The woman's upbringing was so firm. Especially regarding manners that she held in high regard as an Asian woman. Although the majority of the family members preferred to settle in Europe.

"Sorry, Ma."

Those were the only two words that came out of Arsen's mouth. His battered face couldn't lift his head. There were many questions in his head. He wanted to remember the terrible night that ruined his life now.

Until his thoughts found the cry of the girl below him, who was so pleading. It felt so painful to hear that. The girl whose eyes and hands were covered, and Arsen, the scumbag, enjoyed her body. He just remembered how cruel he was at that time.

Until he couldn't bear the pain anymore. His body swayed and he fainted in disgrace.

Seven years later

Arianna stepped foot in the city of Athens. She got her first offer to write a screenplay for a feature film adapted from her novel. This offer was quite interesting because the producer could pay her twice the normal price.

Arianna had proven herself with the achievements behind the pen name Voleta. As soon as she worked and introduced herself, she would use that name.

In addition, it felt safe to cover up her identity, which was far from perfect.

Her babies were born without their father's last name. She didn't know which genes had printed the two cute angels in her life. She could only hope that they would grow up to be strong children.

"Mom, can I eat candy again? My mouth feels ashy."

"Tsk, know this, oh Nerina, it's not ash that you swallowed, but the burning smell from your mouth. Because you're not diligent in brushing your teeth."

"Ugh, you're mean!"

Nerina folded her round hands in front of her chest. Her lips pouted so cutely. She was pouting mode towards her brother who often teased her.

"Enough, you don't keep teasing Nerina, Lean. This is not good. For Nerina, you can get candy after finishing lunch."

Arianna mediated the two siblings' dispute. Of course, she didn't want any dangerous actions to occur in the house.

Her twin children never seemed to get along. They did show love for each other, but the love shown was actually amid quarrels.

Sometimes, while writing, Arianna would insert scenes of their quarrels. This is what makes her writing come to life. Because it's directly performed by her two little angels.

"Is that true, Mom? I'll get candy again."

Arianna couldn't resist looking at the round eyes of the Princess. Those eyes showed sincerity that she wanted to eat candy this time.

Arianna felt sorry. It's just that during the flight, the little mouth kept chewing candy. She was afraid of health problems later.

"Of course, dear. You'll get the last candy after lunch. For now, let's get in the taxi and go to the apartment that Mom has rented," said Arianna.

Nerina wasn't satisfied with her mother's answer, but she didn't want to make her sad. So she just nodded, following her mother's wishes to get into the taxi that had stopped in front of them.

First, Arianna put her suitcases into the trunk. With the help of Lean and the driver, her job became easier.

Meanwhile, Nerina got into the car first. She sat in the back seat, where she would sit with her mother later.

"That's it, Lean. You get in the front," said Arianna.

Normally, Arianna would sit in the front with the driver. However, since her parents should have been two people, their children became so protective of Arianna.

They were very selective in looking at Arianna's social environment, whether her mommy was close to a man. They kept a close watch on her.

"Okay, Mom."

Without realizing it, before closing the trunk tightly, a small figure had slipped inside it.

The trunk wasn't too full. Arianna only brought three suitcases, her clothes, and two suitcases for the children's clothes. The rest she would buy when she arrived at their destination.

Anyway, Arianna grew up in this city. Although it was strange because the roads and atmosphere were so new, she had no trouble recognizing the corners of the city she passed through.

Engel Apartments were the place she could rent while in this city. The taxi driver had pulled over.

He couldn't help much with the luggage. Arianna was busy paying for their taxi fare. So Leander opened the trunk.

As soon as he opened it, his eyes showed surprise. There was a child his age sleeping peacefully inside the trunk.

Leander was about to speak, but the small hand covered his mouth.

"Shh, thank you. Don't tell anyone I hitched a ride."

Leander was hypnotized by the child who was already carefully getting out of the trunk. Through the body of the car next to them with no one around, the small feet disappeared there.

"Lean, what are you thinking? You're taking so long to unload the luggage," protested Nerina about her twin brother's behavior. She approached Leander and patted his shoulder.

"What are you thinking? You gave up on these three suitcases. If so, I say you've failed to be a real man."

Lean quickly looked lazily toward Nerina. He was annoyed at being told he wasn't a real man. His resolve so far was very strong in protecting Arianna and Nerina. How could he not be a real man like that?

"You're just talking nonsense."

"Okay... okay. Give me the suitcases. Lean, you take one."

Arianna quickly intervened, lifting the three suitcases. The taxi driver left as soon as the suitcases were unloaded.

In front of Arianna and Lean, Nerina lightly danced around. She didn't seem to be carrying any burden, only a teddy bear that always accompanied her all the time.

"Nerina, pay attention to your steps! You can fall," Arianna warned her daughter. However, Nerina had eaten a lot of sugar today. Her nature was so active that it was difficult to control her.

She walked with short hops until she unknowingly bumped into the back of a man in front of her.

"Ow!"

Although Nerina was a bit chubby, the adult man's body was still so solid and hard. A child her age couldn't be okay after hitting so hard.

"Nerina!"
