Running On Empty

I dropped to the ground weakly, landing on my back next to Karla and tried to see if I was shot after all when I felt the sticky liquid spreading towards me from Karla's limp body. I heard seven pairs of footsteps echoing throughout the warehouse as they came racing towards me, Koa easily reaching me first since he had always been the fastest out of the group.
