Chapter 18 - Sam
We cuddled on the border of the water, watching the waterfall and kissing softly for a while. The sun was going down and we could already see the first stars coming out. The night sky was perfect, and the fireflies were flying in the low grass, creating a fairy-tale play of lights.
Sitting there in this magical moment with her, Sarah started to kiss me more intensively and to walk my body with her hands. I could smell her pheromones rising. It was driving my wolf crazy. We took off our clothes and made love under the starry sky, sharing this intimate moment together. When at last she was sated, shouting my name and moaning from pleasure, I let myself come, also reaching my peak. We stayed together for a few minutes, two perfectly matched bodies, lying under the moonlight.

I was happy with his answer, but still feeling a little annoyed. My wolf hadn’t calmed down yet. All my instincts were telling me to give her a proper lesson as to how to talk to my mate. Itwas Monday morning already. I felt like the sun rose too early, I could have stayed in bed for a few more hours. But after an extra-long weekend, I needed to get ready for work. I took my phone out and tried to call Sarah but got no answer. Then I tried to concentrate and to her through her mind, but it didn’t work. That wasn’t normal, that wasn’t good. It took us a little longer than expected to find the entrance. There were a few guards, but we dealt with them. A good portion of the pack was there. I heard Sarah say, “You’re wrong. Humans are not weak. We have our place in the pack with the others. What we lack in physical strength, we compensate in our hearts.” I didn’t want her to speak and get attention on her. But it was too late. Georges was coming her way. He spoke with hatred in the eyes, “You fool…” nothing more was said, and I knew he was coming for her. I stepped in his way just in time to stop him. His punch was so strong I fell to the floor. My leg was hurting from the fight with Keven. “You annoying bastard.” Georges told me and then changed into his wolf form as I followed him and changed too. With the demon’s power absorbed, he was much bigger and stronger than me, even if he didn’t have Alpha blood. ************ Sarah’s POV ************A lot had happened since that day. After the battle we went back to Sam’s parents’ house. We were injured but we were fine. They sent some members of the pack to clean up the mess and then seal the sepulcher, hoping no one would have the idea to go there again.With the respect gained from the fight, and the courage and strength that he showed, it was decided Sam would become the Alpha. His father stepped down as the Alpha and began teaching his son, showing him what it means to be a good Alpha. I had no doubts he would do great. All boxes are unpacked. Finally, I’ll be able to settle down. Not too soon either as I start my new job tomorrow. I’m so excited! When it finally did finish, I was eager to go home. I picked up my notes and got up, but a hand fell on my shoulder as I was about to start walking. I felt tingles coming from that touch. When I turned around, I saw Sam with the biggest smile on his face. “Hey! Sarah, it is, right?” He asked with a deep voice. “Yes, it is, and you’re Sam?” I asked him in reply, as if I didn’t remember his name. I mean the guy is gorgeous! I had a hard time concentrating the whole meeting, my eyes just kept coming back to him all the time. I was trying not to drool on the desk. He laughed a little before answering, “Yeah that’s right. So… I couldn’t help noticing you looking at me earlier.” Oh crap! I thought to myself. And here I managed to make myself look like a fool on my first day. So much for a first impression. I tried to make it as if it wasn’t true, even though it must have been so obvious.
