CHAPTER 8 ( my etched memory)

Clarke was confused as to why there were police officers in his office and quickly stood up.

"Sorry to startle you, Mr. Ford, but if you don't mind, we would like to have a few words with you." The lady amongst them said she was dressed in a black suit, and something about her felt very formal.

"Sure," he stuttered and pointed to two seats on the other side of my large desk.

He scribbled through his wallet for a split second and finally brought out a business card.

"I'm detective Freeman, and with me here is officer Conan and officer Bryan."

He sounded rather calm despite the fierce expression he had on his face.

Clarke nodded slowly, but he couldn't care less about their names; all he wanted to know was why they were in his office so early in the morning.

"Miss Georgia, your secretary is reportedly missing." Freeman paused and stared at him for a while, watching for any sudden change in his expression.
