I was so confused by why Weston had asked to be alone with us. He even asked us to stand up, and we all met in a small circle beside the table. Carter and I looked at him with a puzzled expression, but I could sense something strange on Willow’s end, yet besides her, only Weston didn’t appear perplexed by all of this. Even our mother seemed unsure about what was going on.

“Why did you send them all out?” Carter asked, speaking the question that lingered on my tongue.

“Because I wanted to do this in private before…”

Weston looked at Willow, and I glanced at her, but when she felt my eyes on her, she turned to give me an apologetic look.

“Weston,” my mother called, and I noticed her turning slightly scared.

“Okay, what is going on?” I asked, needing some answers now.

“You have to admit it,” he insisted, focusing on my mother.

“Admit what? Admit what, Mom?” I pressed, and both Carter and I focused on her, but she looked away, not meeting our eyes.
