It was a little more than a month before Kat was discharged. The local police had gone after Michael Jonah for what he did, and he was now wanted in both Idaho and Wyoming. Only the P Series was located, the federal authorities of the state taking them while Kat was allowed to go to Wyoming to help free others like herself and Wild. Elaine knew it wouldn't be long before Michael Jonah was wanted in most, if not all, the US. If he was smart, he would turn himself in and give up the locations of all the Series. Wild and Kat knew better, though. He would probably leave the country and go to one of the Series out of the country where he wasn't wanted. "What do we do?" Kat questioned as they looked up. "... it might be a while before we are found... we need to survive." Wild staggered to his paws and peered up. Wild was separated from the others to get x-rays done. It turned out he'd fractured one of the bones in his legs, but that was the worst of his damage. Jon had broken his arm and his nose. He also had a concussion that had put him in his comatose state, and he needed stitches. All three of them did, actually. They were splicing wolf DNA and inserting it into all the kidnapped children. Nobody in the program knew why, the people never told them. There were rumors. Everyone wished they could get rid of the pain that came with the experiments. No amount of anesthetics could take it away. It never got better, even as years passed. W-17-D wreathed on the operating table, fangs piercing at the gag in his mouth as he tried to scream. He clawed desperately at nothing, his hands couldn't move, not with the restraints. Elaine came by monthly. She called it therapy, but it was so much more than that. She asked a lot about them leaving this place. She needed to know who she could save and who was too far gone. W-17-D was running laps with a few other hybrids. It was a test of speed and agility for them, but they were supposed to think of it as a game. He didn't think of it as a game. He just knew that the director himself asked for this test and the gym, and so he had to perform at his best, dodging obstacles that were put in his way as fast as he could.
