Emily 's POV
I never thought I'd see the huntress once saved me in our village! Even though she saved my life, I won’t thank her! Because she drove out all the Werewolves that had ruled the village for years, which she stated as life rescue of us human race. Yet since the Werewolves disappeared, our village had been overrun by a clan of Vampires headed by the Duke Elliot. And now, I was becoming a blood slave of Duke Elliot, feeding him my blood every day.
Now, the huntress who had been hated and spurned by the villagers was standing in front of me. I should, ought to revenge for my poor villagers, many of whom had been cruelly sucked every last drop of blood in their bodies by Vampires and turned into corpses with just flesh and skin!
"Bitch! That was all because of you! If you hadn't turned up in our village, they might still be alive! "
The huntress spoke, and I could stil recall her name, Echo, which was what she told me after she saved me, and she said that if I ever got in trouble, I should come to Sinpal and look for Echo BLake. Right! I even remember her last name! Blake, the fucking Blake family!
"You're Emily?" I thought she recognized me.
"I am! So what?" I provocatively looked at her, really wanting to drain her blood the next second in honor of my villagers!
"I saved your life, remember?" This bitch Echo was still trying to make me think of her kindness and be grateful for her.
"Ughm!" I sneered and said to her, "Do you think that by saving me, you will get rid of your written destiny?"
"What? My destiny?"She obviously didn’t get my words.
"Yes! You destinsy. That’s DEATH!" I angrily replied.
Echo frowned. "I don't understand! When YOUR village was ruled by vicious Werewolves, I saved you, and your people, and set you free. Why did you hate me SO MUCH ?"
She still looked innocent, as if all this had had nothing to do with her. Or she still treated herself like she was our goddess Athena! I just couldn’t take this any more. All I wanted, in my mind, was to kill her, right now!
"Don't dream of our thanks to you! Vampires took over our village after the Werewolves, and we lost a lot of people! In the old days when the Werewolves were here, all we had to do was to hunt for them and bring them food. And YOU! YOU broke all that and you still thought your most generous action was doing us good?"
Echo listened to me, speechless. I continued, "Damn bitch, Echo, you'll never pay for this sin! If I can't torture you to death, I'm sure Duke Elliot will!" With all my strength, I began to whip her, all around her body. Every time I hit on her, the face of a villager flashed in my mind. They were all innocent people!
Echo's POV
I actually met a Werewolf ruled villager I had saved years before. Back then, she was just a little girl of seven or eight with curly black hair and bright eyes. After she was saved by me, she kept thanking me, hoping I could save her parents. But unfortunately, the Werewolf killed innocent people in the process of escaping, which made her parents victims.
When I left, I told her my name and asked her to meet me in Sinpal if she needed help. However, we actually met in the dungeon of the Vampire castle. But this time we met, we did not enjoy the joy of reunion as much as we imagined, on the contrary, she began to torture me inhumane. She said she hated me and their whole village hated me!
"But Emily, it was my original intention to set you free. I did not think that Vampires would take over your village. I did not mean it!"
"The words that you didn’t mean it couldn’t revive the villagers!" Emily roared and swung the whip hard at me. I could feel her using every ounce of strength to hit me.
The pain attacked my mind, and I desperately reached for the whip and held her.
"Stop! Just stop! If a Vampire destroyed your village, why would you be a prisoner of that Vampire? It was he who you should hate, wasn't it? "
Emily was rickety, and definately feeling exhausted of all her strength running out. "You knew nothing! Of course I hate him! I was forced to be his blood slave, enslaved by him, hypnotized. What was I supposed to do? ! Pursue the reasons. It was your appearance that broke all balance. Not for you, everything was still fine. So I hated you and I had to hate you!!"
A bold idea suddenly occurred to me. Why not escape together with her? "Listen, Emily, if you keeo being his blood slave, you will die for sure sooner or later. Let's get out of here together, and this time, I won't let you be the victim!"
Leonardo's POV
I went back to my room, with my feet shaking.
Damn it! I forgot about the herbal deposits in the huntress's body, which would destroy my Vampire powers. But there was something deadly about her that I couldn't stand. I missed Jenna, so I couldn't say no to it.
No, I just couldn’t go on with this. I had to find out how I was going to save Jenna, and more importantly, if I didn't want her to have that deadly attraction again, I would need to turn to the Heart of Moonshadow. It sucked the power out of the Vampires, and it should be able to suck the power back out of her body.
This stupid Emily. Never did she report back to me yet. Had she been overpowered by her? After all, that damn huntress had been through a lot of training. I went to the dungeon again. Emily lay on her side as if she had had a very tiring day. I walked up to her, and without hesitation, I bit off her neck and tasted the charming sweetness of her blood. Just as Emily turned pale, I stopped precisely to save her breath. If she died, I would have to find a new blood slave to feed on. What a trouble that would be!
"No! Stop it!" It was the voice of the huntress, stumbling toward me to stop me from drinking Emily's blood.
Crap!!
I could smell her special scent again, which made my hands loose, and Emily fell to the ground, not waking up. "Emily!" She should call my blood slave's name! I did not expect them to know each other!
"Is she dead?" She seemed to be addressing herself. "Why would you do this to a 16-year-old girl, you cruel pervert?"
Shit! So she was now turning into a saint? A damn woman who killed her best friend was now pretending worrying about my blood slave! I grasped her collar, making her closer to me. Oh god! This sweet lovely smell in her was becoming really more and more attractive, almost driving me crazy! My heart began to restless again!
"Damn you! It's not your turn to concern about my blood slave now." I said with a well-designed plan coming up in my brain. "Why don't we play a game like telling and freeing. You tell me the truth and I’ll leave the poor ignorant girl alone, all right?" Seeing her tangled face, I calmed down as she would finally tell me the truth about Jenna's murder!
Emily woke up on the ground and called out to me in a weak voice. "Your Royal Highness, kill her! Kill her, please! She has told me that Princess Jenna was dead under her violence. She told me all that!"
My eyes were filled with rage, and in my anger, I saw tears gradually filling in the huntress's eyes.
Leonardo's POVI admitted that I couldn't help noticing the tears in her eyes, even though I rarely saw them in Jenna's eyes, so I was totally unfamiliar with Jenna's tears. But this moment, I did not know the reason why my heart was full of this inexplicable pain when I saw her tears."Hold your tears, Huntress! I will not pardon you for those little drops of salty water! With me, you will always be guilty! YOU, get up!" I kicked Emily, the dying blood slave next to me, "Go to Luise and ask for some blood-filling medicine. Take it. The huntress still needs you to interrogate her."Emily struggled to her feet. "Your Royal highness, You've drunk up Luise's blood. I can't go to him.""Oh, yes! I forgot that!" I smiled, pulling over the chain nailed to the wall, and bound the huntress's hands firmly. I was afraid she should be too cunning, and escaped while we were gone! She struggled a few times, but because of the wound, she could not succeed. "Save it, dear huntress! You will never ev
Echo 's POVPain! Pain! Pain! I'd never felt pain like this before. It was ten times worse than the lash soaked in salt water whipping on my body!"What's wrong with me? I pulled my feet back out of the light. "What happened? What did you do to me? !" I looked at the Vampire in anger.Surely, he must have done something to me! Is the whip in Emily's hand to do with it? Or... I looked at the Vampire with a puzzled face, and he looked at me with a smile and a hint of defiance."Perhaps your great Moon Goddess is punishing you! Aha!" Even Emily chose to stand aside, saying and doing nothing, as if hoping that I would be burned to death by the sun!I lifted my heavily shackled hands and stroked my burned feet. How strange it was! There were no scars on my feet as if I had just been dreaming! "How did this happen?" I checked carefully to make sure it wasn't my fantasy."That's a good sign." The Vampire stopped his smile and squatted down. His eyes were at the same level with mine. I saw hi
Leonardo's POVThis woman was acting like a Vampire! Did it mean that after she absorbed Jenna's Vampire power, she was going to be a Vampire, too? But we Vampires had never been like this before! No one could be a Vampire unless we suck blood and then resurrect them! Could a hunter's ring hold all that power? I chose not to believe that the heart of Moonshadow could do this, nor would I. However, I DID watch her wounds heal immeasurably."You keep questioning her. I need to taste some new blood." I motioned to Emily for another round of torture and quickly left the dungeon myself.Back in my room, I lay on the bed. Memoeries about the hunter came to me like tide hitting the shore. Her beauty, her dignity even in the face of torture, were deeply imprinted on my mind. To my surprise, Jenna's image was fading away in my mind, being replaced, step by step, by another shadow, and her image just vanished bit by bit!Thinking of this, my body was suddenly attacked by a flow of dry heat. I kn
Leonardo's POVWhat did I do? Making out in bed with this fucking huntress? This was definately betrayal, a betrayal of Jenna! Emily's screams woke me up. "Your Royal Highness, I... I'm sorry, I didn't know you were..." She apparently choked back, not daring to continue. I got up, found the bathrobe lying on the sofa and wrapped it around me. Then I turned my evil eyes on Emily. She dared to disturb me when I was in the heat of desire. She was now on her knees, trembling, and in my anger I kicked her hard."Get out of my room!" I was furious. When I turned around, I saw the stunned face of the huntress. Her hands around my neck were still frozen in mid-air and she could not lower them. She must have been woken up by Emily's cry, too. Seeing my eyes resting on her half-open collar, she hastily sat up and pulled her ragged clothes aside to cover them a little, but the more she did so, the more attractive she looked!"Huntress, listen to me!" I grabbed her by the scruff of the neck and c
Echo 's POVKindness in this world went in cycles, and I never thought that the people I had saved by accident would now return my kindness. I picked up the keys on the ground, unshackled the handcuffs and anklets. Then I began my directionless journey through the Illusion Fog. The Thorn Jungle was made all the more terrifying by the mournful cries of countless crows flying overhead. Although I was a tough hunter with all kinds of brutal training, I was also afraid when my heart iwas weak. The weakness of my heart came from the abandonment and betrayal that followed when I thought of my family and friends, which made my heart cold to the extreme. I might as well stay put because I was not sure if there was anything else chilling in the forest waiting for me. For safety, I chose to stand where I was now. As an old saying went, standing where you were was the safest option while losing direction."Roar!" Not far away from the depths of the jungle came the roar of a male Lion. Why would
Leonardo's POVThis woman, this crazy little woman, should spend two days in the Thorn Jungle! It was incredible! Not even the most powerful Alphas Werewolf could do that! And she was only a little huntress.I put on my defensive cloak and entered the Thorn Jungle at dusk. Only then could we Vampires be protected from the attack of The Illusion Fog. She was about to faint, and my heart was trembling! "You were really tough, aren’t you?" I couldn't help saying those ironic words to her. The next second, she was crawling up to me with her exausted and battered body, dragging me at the corner of my cloak and weakly said those words. "I didn't kill Jenna, I didn't..." Then she fell down and did not wake up."Hey! Hey! Wake up!" I squatted down and tried to wake her up, but she was probably hurt too badly to wake up in a short time. I picked her up. As she curled into my arms, I realized how tiny she was, almost a head shorter than Jenna. Now she was like a sleeping kitten in my arms. Her
Echo 's POVAfter eating the food, I seemed to regain the ability to survive. Human beings were different from Vampires. They needed the energy provided by food before they could accomplish what they wanted to accomplish. What I wanted to accomplish, of course, was ESCAPE!Emily watched me eating, though she hated it and even said bad words to me, I didn't have time worrying about that now. If she took my kindness as granted, I didn't have to bother trying to get her out of the control of the Vampire."Anything else? I'm still hungry." I began to make demands on her."What? That's not enough?" Emily looked at me with disdain, as if I were a homeless beggar on the street."No, not enough. I haven't eaten for days, you know. I need food." I begged her, for the sake of escape,I would choose to give up my dignity just for a while."Well, just wait for a second. I'll ask Your Royal Highness for permission. I don't want to waste food and be scolded by Your Royal Highness!" she said angrily,
Leonardo's POVThis time, after I told James to throw her into the dungeon, I didn't look at her at all. Or actually I dare not do that. I was afraid to look into her sad eyes. Every time I see them, I couldn't stop sinking into them.I hurried back to my room, and Nathan followed me into the room with the purple bottle. I didn't say a word, still angry that he had hugged Echo! I really shouldn't be angry! And I had no reasons to be angry! Especially with Nathan, even though he was a good friend of mine, I still didn't want to show him any different feelings towards humans, even hunters. So, I restrained myself."Is she your new blood slave?" Nathan was still pestering me about some of Echo's questions, and I didn't want to answer them."She is Nobody. Never mind!" I answered perfunctorily, and quickly changed the subject before I had a chance to amplify my feelings of discontent."But you don't look like not caring about her at all!" Nathan continued. I don't know if I had been a lit
