The next day, I wake with a smile on my face. My mate is sweet and adventurous, but she’s also underage. I’m going to take it slow with her but I admit that I love waking up with her sweet smell in my nose and her scent all over my body. Overwhelmed. That’s how I feel. Completely and totally overwhelmed. I don’t know how Emlyn does it. I’ve been listening to her all morning, watching while she makes the job of Luna look easy. How does she know how Rich, Emerson, and Cohen like their sandwiches? Even I didn't know that my mate prefers speared pickles on the side to pickle chips on his sandwich. How did she know? And it’s like it’s an afterthought for her, like ‘oh yes, don’t forget…’ Don’t forget?? You have to know something first before you can forget it! By the time Cohen’s meeting is done, I’m wondering if he is going to change his mind about me being his acting Luna. If I were him, I would try to keep Emlyn. “You’re going to be great,” Emlyn says as she walks out of the kitchen. I’m standing on the stage, anxiously waiting for Malin to enter the gathering from the back of the packhouse. Since this is her acting Luna ceremony, she’s the last to arrive. I can’t believe my mate will now become part of my pack. While she may not yet be old enough for me to claim officially, this is the first step to making her mine. Emlyn is in the front row, looking distracted while holding her son. My Beta, Jace, adn Gamma, Charlie, are standing at my side. The moment Malin walks out, it’s like everyone and everything falls away. I can tell that the pack sprites helped with her hair. Her long blond hair is full of flowers but on her, it’s perfect. Her dress is light and flowy, not seductive, but just enough to give hints of her perfect body underneath. She looks like she just walked out of the forest, ready to take on the world.
