Chapter Seven: Daniel's POV

I glared angrily at Emma after Emily left the dining room.

“I know you are insensitive and immature. But saying that to a woman who is scared of losing her children, just because of your insecurity was the height of it.” I said coldly and she looked over at me.

“Did you see the way she talked to me? She just insulted the fact that I don't have kids of my own. Did you notice that?” She asked

I rolled my eyes. “Did you listen to yourself? You called her an attention seeker for being worried about her missing children. You don’t know what it's like to have a missing child or missing sibling, so stop being insensitive and avoid getting into unnecessary arguments with Emily, for pete’s sake.” I said and started to walk out of the dining table.

“Are you supporting her right now? I have heard stories of her from the mouths of your friends, your family. But I never knew you both had been intimate. And out of the blue, she shows up after five years, asking for help to find her kids. Kids that you fathered! How is that supposed to make me feel?!” She yelled, causing me to pause in my strides to look at her.

“Can you shut the hell up, really? You seem to forget that I did not wish to marry you. It was your father and my father who forced me to abandon my mate and marry you, all because of some greedy alliance. Emily was my mate, and she will always be my mate. Be satisfied that you are currently the pack’s Luna, and stop wanting more.”

I turned to leave again when her voice stopped me.

“In the entire five years of our marriage, you have never spoken to me the way you just did. I always knew that I had no place in your heart, but you never reminded me about the mate bond or our arranged marriage. You always treated me with the leanest amount of respect. And all that has changed just because that bitch and her brats showed up.” She scoffed, her voice getting teary but I could care less.

“While she remains in this pack house, you will respect Emily and my children, Emma. Do you get that? She is the mother of my children. My future heirs. You haven't given me an heir yet, despite how many times you urged me to try, so don't even think about your frustration on the mother of my children and my children. Do you understand me?” I asked angrily and she scowled.

“Do you understand me, Emma?!” I growled loudly, making her flinch.

She had never seen me react that way before, and of course, I was going to react that way to anybody who dared to talk down on my kids. She gave a small nod and I walked away.

I entered into my study, trying to think of the possible fastest way to help Emily. Her kids were not just her kids, they were mine too. I sighed and threw my head back on the chair. She looked really hurt when Emma said that she was an attention seeker.

Should I apologize to her on Emma’s behalf? Of course not. That wouldn’t make her feel any better. The only thing she wanted right now was to find the children.

My head perked up with a sudden memory.

My twin brother, Dylan.

I had a twin brother who looked just like me. He left home after our mom died and he constantly blames Dad for her death. He hated the fact that Dad was greedy, and while I admired his brave move, I just couldn’t leave dad alone.

Immediately, I called my Beta. “Come to the Pack house. We have a few things to discuss.” I said over the phone.

I had Jamie constantly watch Dylan over the years since he left home, and at the last check, he had moved to Michigan.

He worked as a private investigator and had his own investigation company. He had become a big shot in the Force, so I decided that Dylan would be the one to assist me with finding my kids.

“You sent for me, my lord.” I heard Jamie say as he entered my study.

“Yes. I need to go see Dylan.”

His gasp of surprise made me look up at him.

“Prince Dylan? Out of the blue? Do you think he will want to see you?” Jamie asked

I shrugged, knowing he was right. We had a fallout years ago and Dylan hated me ever since.

“I know he wouldn’t want to see me. But I need his help in finding my children. He is the best private investigator in the whole of North America.” I answered with a sigh.

Jamie's confused face almost made me laugh out loud but I maintained my composure, “I’m sorry, Alpha. But we both know you do not have kids. I’m clearly confused.” He wasn’t aware that Emily had returned.

“Emily has returned. With my kids.” I said and his eyes widened. “That’s not what matters. What matters is we need to go visit Dylan, because the kids have been taken by the goddess knows who. And Emily is so restless.”

“I will prepare the cars.” He said and walked out. This was the reason why I liked Jamie. He always knew what to do in every situation.

After a brief moment of silence, I walked to Emily’s room.

“I know who is best at helping us find the children, Emily.” I announced as soon as I entered and she looked at me with raised brows.

“My brother will. My twin brother” I finished, catching the look of surprise on Emily's face.

“What do you mean your twin brother?” She asked suspiciously, her eyes squinted and her right brow raused.

“It's a long story. I will explain later. Right now, we need to leave for Michigan. As quickly as possible.” I responded.

“I believe whatever this is, it's because you know best.” She said and looked at her two friends. “Aren't you two coming?” She asked and they nodded.

We got into the cars and many hours later, we were in front of the house Dylan was reported to be living in. I sighed, growing antsy and agitated.

This was the moment of truth. My brother hates me and I wondered how it would be for him, seeing me again after 7 years. I pressed the doorbell and heard his voice.

“Coming!” He mumbled before opening the door.

Immediately we locked eyes, his face contorted into a frown and he growled. “What are you doing here?”
