Chapter 74

Summer’s POV

I can tell they sought the kid’s advice. The effort they have made is mediocre at best. But I come here frequently with my children. It is our special family spot. It’s something I do with them, so that I get a small amount of peace while they play.

It would have been nice to have been taken on a date. Been able to get dressed up. Enjoy a meal cooked by someone else. Maybe even have a dance with someone taller than me. Made me feel special and being told I looked beautiful. I can’t say I wasn’t disappointed because I was.

Still, I need to be positive that they spoke to the kids. They tried.

Nathan and Dawson, no doubt, had had many opportunities over the years to wine and dine women. Go out to fancy events. Live a luxurious lifestyle. Whereas I have been mommy to three amazing children. In the bigger scheme of things. I was the winner.
