Chapter 6

Duncan walked away from the manor, but his heart remained in his old home.

He walked around town for hours at a time.

When the first raindrops fell on him, Duncan did not feel them.

He kept walking, with feet that weren’t his...

A body that wasn’t yours.

He watched people running down the street from the rain, he stopped at the curb and considered the possibility of throwing himself in front of a car.

But soon the face of Rosalie and her children appeared in her mind, and the man dismissed this idea.

Duncan Valois was dead, including Rosalie.

He only had one thing left.

Find out who did it.

The man returned to the luxury condominium where the CEO of the Lecomte group lived, then locked himself in the man’s office.

He spent the next few hours reading his diaries, finding out everything he could about him.

Until he found a file on himself.

It was sealed, François himself had not opened it.

In the document was all the information about his life, and it planted a bitter doubt in Duncan.

The Lecomte group was a declared competitor, and all the success of the Imperio group was attributed to the good management of the Valois family.

From Duncan Valois.

The man snitched and threw the document on the table.

There was no sender, did not know who had delivered that document so thorough about his life.

When you threw the papers, you saw a picture of Rosalie fall.

He bent down and touched the photo with his fingertips.

It was a picture of Rosalie smiling, was on the balcony of the mansion.

The same porch he used to hug her, used to love her...

He took the photo, and looked into Rosalie’s brown eyes as her heart fell apart...

Duncan felt torn apart, a pain that could not be described consumed him. He tore up the photo refusing to continue looking at what was cowardly taken from him.

It was not only his life that had been taken by someone, but his Rosalie.

He stood up and began to search all the drawers of the office, looking for clues of some involvement of the Lecomte Group.

When Duncan finally finished, he already had all the names of the principal directors of the Lecomte Group, and each of them would profit from his death.

Duncan headed for a bath, and looked for a towel to cover the mirror.

He didn’t know how he was reborn in that body, he was only sure of one thing.

He was dead. Duncan Valois was dead.

raised.

He was heading for the doors when Lecomte’s voice stopped him.

" That’s a meeting, sit down!"

The man turned, and cast a bitter glance at Lecomte.

It was at this point that Duncan realized that he had hooked him, as he had intended.

" I will ask again, who caused the explosion in Picardie-Baux?"

When Luidi tried to deny it, Duncan slammed his face against the glass table.

The man on his feet tried to move against him, Duncan took good advantage of Lecomte’s physique and turned the body, held the other man’s neck and led him forcefully to the table.

The other subordinates did not move, even when Duncan pulled a knife out of his suit, and put it down the older man’s throat.

" I will ask just one more time. Who caused the explosion?"

The young Luidi Petit, who was the son of Bernard Petit, the man whom Duncan threatened, stood up:

"Please! Let my father go, Lord Lecomte! It wasn’t us!"

Luidi was supported by the other subordinates, who stood up.

Duncan did not release Bernard, he remained holding the cold knife to his throat as he watched those faces.

None of them surprised to see their boss with a knife around his sales manager’s neck, all accustomed to the violence.

Who were you really, Lecomte? Duncan thought.

The only thing he knew was that Lecomte was apparently in the dark about the explosion that resulted in his death.

Duncan tightened the knife on Petit’s neck, until Luidi revealed:

" Durand, Chapele, Moreau!"

Those were the last names of the directors of the Lecomte Group.

Duncan faced the young Luidi Petit, his young and anxious face.

" Speak. " Ordered you.

Luidi looked at his father’s face as Duncan thrust the knife into his neck.

" Durand and the others planned the explosion, said he was a threat to the Company! We followed orders!

Duncan Valois felt all his blood turn into flames!"
