Clashes

The show runs for ten weeks airing on national television twice a week the pilot episode was live while the consecutive episodes was being screen as to cut the unwanted scenesto be aired later, the judges and contestants shoot the segments thrice a week . The judges vote for their bets for the first screening that only consist of thirty six contestant among the hundreds that auditioned of which each judge will turn mentor to nine contestant and guide them to become semi-finalist , finalist and the top four representiing each mentor will compete with each other to become the champion.

On the third week of the audition Gabbi have just two spot short to complete the number of contestant under her, A young contestant walks to the stage that Gabbi never knew that will soon turn her world upside down with the revelation that she carries with her.

"What's your name little girl? " Josh asked.

"I'm Daniella, Danni for short." the girl answered.

"What is for long? " Georgie inserted mischievouisly.

"Daniella Allyana Payne, for long." which earned laughter from the audience including the judges. But Gabbi was shocked after hearing her named which Jennifer noticed. Gabbi hides her confusion with a smile.

"How long have you been singging and playing the guitar, are you really playing it or it's just a props?" Georgie added he can be blunt at times.

" I learned to play the guitar when I was six but I learn to sing much younger than that with my father."

"I suppose your father sings well." Jennifer asked.

" Yes! he's quite good at it." came the prompt answer.

" Where does he sing? does he sing Proffesionally?" josh asked.

"We sing in the church together and sometimes he sings on gatherings." the judges found it funny with the answer and laughed except for Gabbi.

"You're so quiet Gabbi, do you have something to say to little Danni who sings with her father in the church and performs occasionally on gatherings?" jennifers comment has a hint of mockery, that pissed her off.

" There is nothing wrong with performing on gatherings and singging in choir I can say that there are good and famous singers that started that way just like Whitney Houston. I was quiet because I'm marvelling at little Danni's impecable stage presence."

" I didn't mean bad with my comment, you're so touchy." she giggle to cover her mistake.

" I know. anyway, What do you have for us today baby girl?" she smiled at the girl and realised that her face is so familliar she just couldn't remember where or when she met her or who she really looks like.

"it's a song about a promise of two people in love that have priorities they have to fullfil before they can be together. Its a country song."

"Take it away. " Josh said.

Danni pluck her guitar strings for the introduction of her song it's an old Collin Raye song.

" I read a note today my grandma wrote back in 1923,

Grandpa kept it in his coat and showed once to me...."

her voice was so melodious clear and angelic and she gave justice to the song and gave its lyrics a touching rendition that rendered the whole venue quiet only the sound of her voice and guitar picking can be heard. Gabbi close her eyes and feel the song and allow it to take her trip down memory lane.

...as the last note of the song died down the whole venue was still quiet as if waiting , then suddenlly burst into an standing ovasion.

"My God! Gabbi you're crying!" georgie's voice startled her.

"What? " she openned her eyes and realized that there were tears on her eyes. She immediately reach for the tissue and wiped her eyes its a good thing that she doesn't wear mascara or else she will be posing as panda bear with two black eyes.

"That was great Danni! the whole venue was going crazy

with that performance." Marie was extatic just like the audience.

" For a pint size little Danni you surely pack a punch!" Josh commented.

"I'm not into country music but your performance gives me the urges to checked it out." Georgie said.

" Love, Me. your version of Collin Raye hit...You're rendition is the best so far. What can you say Gabbi? I saw you getting emotional on the performance." jennifer commented.

"Yeah you're right I was impressed how she sang it, eventhough there are some lyrics change to suit the personality of the singer, the overall performance was excellent. although I must say that the choice of song was not a contest type she pulled it through. Baby girl who arrange it for you?"

"Thank you very much, My dad arranged it." she answered with her angelic smile.

" Your dad must be talented too, is he around can we call him on stage." Josh asked.

"No he's not around he have other commitment which is why I have chosen this song. as my contest piece." She gave a sad smile

" Oooh so you mean to say you are not supposed to sing that song but change it to match with what you feel... that's reasonable, anyway can we hear the original song choice?"

"Sure! " she immediately pluck her guitar.

there was a break and the note rise higher to a forcefull tone.

.What you don't understand is I catch a grenade for you.

Throw my hand on a blade for you,

I jump infront of a train for you,

But you won't do the same. And the song died down.

" Wow what a powerful voice, I think Jen here will be threaten if you were at the same age, he he he."

" Oh shut up Georgie ! I must admit that I expected you will sing the same genre,I am greatly surprised." jennifer commented.

" well I can say that you gave a promise that this competition will give us headache when it comes to the screening considering the previous contestants was equally good on their own." Josh added.

"What can I say? Goodluck baby girl." Gabbi said. Through it all the child just gave her sweetest smile.

After her experience this day, Gabbi felt emotionally drain with the internal battle she keep.

She has been coaching artist for a while now and find this appealing and uplifting with some drawbacks as memories came flooding back wherein she tried to forget and kept it into oblivion.
