They say love is unpredictable and unstoppable, a natural force that many can't escape. Some people don't want it, most people do. Among the least of the people who never wanted anything to do with it is Ted Allen, a mafia king like his father. He feared loved, he dreaded it, but how could he escape something that is meant to be. When his kidnapped niece, a small version of him escaped from her captors, she runs into two ladies with pasts both left unknown to the other. Cookie Carlisle, one of them, hiding in Italy from her father, a blissful little psycho, helped the unknown child back to her home. But when the other's girl's past comes knocking at their door, Cookie is dragged along with her but saved by the single act of kindness she performed. Ted thought he had seen it all until he met his match, the fearless joyful girl that will stop at nothing until he's hers. ~ 'I really doubt you will last long here,' River said. 'Trust me, I won't die yet.' Why? I have a big bad wolf with my name on his head. He hasn't seen the last of me.

OMG - this book is really great. Lots of twists and turns. Different plots that all tie together. Right amounts of humor, seriousness, and steamy scenes. Took my time to read this book because I enjoyed it so much. Strong female lead.

One of the most hilarious Mafia’s books I’ve ever read in this App. A little bit long for my liking. But I loved ... great read. One of the things I liked the most was tha the female lead was a badass and not a crying one. Keep it up Author. I can’t wait to read more of your books.

Well, I like the book, really. Cookie's determination to frustrate Ted, her personality, and basically, her. She's like a joyful and colorful tornado, hitting everything with full force and leaving an outstanding mark everywhere she goes. It's a bit slow at first, but worth every time spent reading.

Prologue
He watched from his angle, unmoving gaze fixed on the strippers dancing around the pole like their second bodies. The silver in his black hair caught the different color of lights flashing in the room. A glass of Barbera in one hand, and the other wrapped around a slim blonde. At the side of the hand holding the glass, another blonde sat there with legs crossed. Her head laid on his chest, her slender fingers running the length of his bare chest.      Tearing his gaze from the strippers, he made a mental note to have them all fired. He lowered his gaze to the woman on his right, frowning when she smiled at him. They all knew the rules, never smile at him. He removed his hand from her body. 'Get out.' She flinched from the dark depth of his tone, and even if she wanted to protest, she knew better than doing that. Swallowing her

Grand escape
Yolanda's standpoint                  I whimpered as I struggled with the rope tying my hands together behind my back. You'll think they'll afford a child a decent imprisonment. They didn't have to be so rude with the refrain. Three men sat in the SUV to watch me, though playing cards and distracting themselves. My father's men were fool, but they could do better than this. At least, if you're going to insult me, tie me up properly and place more intelligent guards, not the four sacks of nails.      We had been moving from one place to another in vehicles, boats, helicopters, and trains. The men were trying their very best to make it difficult for dad to find me, and I hand it to them, that's the only proper thing they had do

Rainbow and blonde
Yolanda's standpoint                  How do you avoid idiots? Some women just need serious help, pushing themselves on men like they are the only good thing life can give to them. Presently, I was sitting at a café, staring at a woman scream the place down as she pointed at a black lady, throwing abusive words at her. They were two actually, one with rainbow dyed hair and the black lady with blonde and jade. They didn't look bothered by the woman's ranting, didn't even want to utter a word to defend themselves against the woman's accusations. They were innocent.      I was more attracted to the one with the rainbow hair. Something about her, intrigued me; set off my curiosity. She looked more relaxed than the other,

Aren't you a little bit scared?
Cookie's standpoint (Viona)                  I watched the kid, slurping my drink to savor the taste. My body was pressed against the kitchen island while she watched a cartoon in the living room. She's a smart one, too smart and clever to be an ordinary child. She had a dangerous aura, more than what I had growing up. I've moved a lot with bad guys, enough to pick them out when I see one. I easily deduced that she was kidnapped and was trying to hide from the person or people after her. I was endangering my life and that of Ursula's, but I couldn't disobey my instinct.      'Pretty, isn't she?' Ursula asked as she lean on the island beside me.      'Beautiful,' I smiled.

Tracking her down
Carlos' standpoint                  I sat alone at the casino, observing the workers and the people so I could report back to Ted. It'd been a week since we last heard from Yolanda, and it was starting to drive him more crazy than he already was. Any little thing vexed him, even his toothbrush got hammered because it scraped his gum and made him bleed. I love the man, but he is a mad man. Earlier, he was screaming at my mirror because it made him look old, and then shot the lifeless thing. Everyone was staying clear of him, the reason I changed my mind about not visiting the casino for the month. I hate casinos but I hate Wednesdays more.      Fortunately, everything was going well so far, so I didn't

Never kidnap frustration
Cookie's standpoint                  Ursula laughed as she looked at my outfit, I was in a happy jam this morning because I successfully returned Yolanda a day ago. I decided to go out flashy but Ursula thought it was hilarious. I wore a crazy ripped rainbow jeans, white high-low keyhole top and yellow faux boots; I looked really nice. 'Shit, man!' Ursula exclaimed, again.      'Are you sure you are okay?' I asked poutingly.      'I don't know,'      'Is there anything wrong with what I'm wearing?' I asked with a friend.      'One, why not just wear a white top, white boots and carry a white bag instead of mixing the colors?'

Just keep her away from me
Cookie's standpoint                  Who in the world kidnaps someone and not give them food! I am hungry! After getting injected, I woke up in a dark room with Ursula, hungry and annoyed. A starved Cookie is a grumpy Cookie, but try telling idiots that. Ursula's persistent crying was getting on my nerves, really. She got us into this mess by being someone she is not.   Hypocrite.      'Will you stop crying,' I snapped at her. 'I'm starving!'      'I'm sorry,' she sobbed and swallowed her tears.      'What's with you anyway? Your real name is Marilyn?'      'Yes, Marilyn Barley.' a

Another witch
Ted's standpoint                  I stabbed the stupid chicken in anger, careful not to let Yolanda see me ruin the poor fried chicken. My subject of anger was somewhere in my house, in one of my guest bedrooms, enjoying her miserable self while I think of ten possible ways to kill her without upsetting Yolanda. I can start by poisoning… No, that's too obvious… I know! Let her work for two weeks, pretend like she doesn't exist, then send her out with a maid to buy groceries. Before that, I will hire local criminals or just command them to waste her for me, that's easy. Yolanda would never suspect me at all, no one will.   Yes…no one…      'Dad,' Yolanda called as she stared at me weirdly

Crush?
I sighed as I walked into the kitchen. So, she was out of the floor now, but her head buried into the refrigerator as she slept. Is she such a deep sleeper? I walked to her and pulled her back roughly, she fell back on my body, her stupid colored hair bouncing around messily. I cursed under my breath and scooped her into my arms, she smelt nice, though.      'Put me down, I haven't gotten a drink of water yet.' She murmured.      'Hold on,' I dropped her on the kitchen island and walked to the refrigerator again, took out a bottle of water and went back to her. 'Here, drink,' I slapped the bottle in her hand. She put it to her lips, drank half, and poured the rest on her head. 'What are you doing?'      'What am I…' She opened her eyes and sighed. 'How did I get here?'

Concert
Cookie's standpoint                I stretched on my limbs as I stood on my toes, I was in my room doing my morning exercise, very, very essential. I bent backward, bending my body until my head touched my ankle. Someone knocked on my door that moment, I twisted my body and stood on my hands, my legs far apart. 'Come in,' the door opened slightly, Yolanda stuck her head inside. 'Hi Lan, what's up?'      'Good morning,' she greeted.      'Morning, butter berry, did you sleep well?'      'Yes…? What are you doing?'      'Stretching,'      'Why?' She asked, sitting on my bed.      'I'm a gymnast
