XVI - Surprise Gone Wrong II

Third Person's Point of View 

Juliana and Alexa breathed a sigh of relief when they were able to hide in a nearby bar. Fortunately, they have a student ID to enter the said establishment. The bouncers weren’t too strict or to be more specific, Alexa seduced them so they got in right away. Fortunately, the young woman is accustomed to such things, unlike Juliana who thinks only of learning. 

“I thought we can't escape them anymore, but I have a problem in mind. How can we surprise Ate Elaine?” Juliana asked. They sat at the counter to order drinks. They are too tired to run so they want to refresh for a while. 

“How can we surprise Elaine if we can’t enter our Tito Alexander's hospital? Argh. They are nuisances,” Alexa groaned. She immediately showed the bartender the margarita cocktail that is her favorite drink whenever he goes to a party. 

"You, guys, what do you want?" Juliana asked their companions. They immediately sat down by the counter and ordered many drinks that surprised her to the core. 

"You, idiots, I don't have enough cash!" she shouted. They laughed. She was startled when suddenly, a fellow bartender approached her and asked what she wanted to order. His physique was so strong that it almost felt like her soul had left her body the moment he approached her. 

“Hey, idiot, you already have a boyfriend! Share your blessings and don't be selfish! ” shouted Shane, one of their friends who accompanied them to fix the props they prepared that unfortunately crashed. 

“Fine, I'll just order. What are you thinking?” Juliana asked and turned to her colleagues who were staring at her. 

"What is your order, ma'am?" the young man asked. Did they require the bartender to be this hot at this bar? 

She bit her lip before finally answering, "A sex on the beach," she said. Alexa who was sitting beside her threw the margarita out of her mouth upon hearing her. 

"I'm going to report you to Kuya Kaizer. You're so naughty!" Alexa threatened. Juliana's eyes widened and defended herself especially when she saw her colleagues looking at her because of what she said. 

“What are you talking about? I said cocktail drinks. Your minds are too stained!” she explained. They just grinned as if they didn't believe her that she immediately turned around. 

"Is that all?" the bartender asked, making Juliana face him. Even in the tone of his speech, you can tell that he is not pure Filipino. Perhaps he has foreign blood. 

The girl immediately smiled since these are her types of men. For her, their accents sound sexy. When their eyes met, the young man winked at her. He started to make her drink and his movements were so smooth that she could only stare at him. Until her phone rang and interrupted her. Shit, oh. 

“Hello, what do you need? You keep on calling when I am doing som—” Juliana's words were cut short when her older brother, Kaizer, suddenly spoke on the other line that made her immediately stand up, making Alexa look at her who was earlier busy typing on her cellphone. 

“What are you saying and where are you? Why is it so noisy?” Kaizer asked correspondingly. She immediately signaled Alexa that Kaizer was on the other line. She pointed to the nearest restroom and the two of them went inside. She held the call first so she and Alexa could talk. 

"Just tell him we clapped, easy as that," Alexa said. Juliana winced at the idea because she knew her older brother Kaizer. 

"It's the last thing that I will do," she replied and pressed continue on her cellphone. 

“Sorry, brother. It's a bit noisy because we are practicing the choreo for the surprise. You know, we're going to show this to Kuya Louis,” she reasoned. They will be even more doomed when he finds out they hid in the bar and they failed the surprise. 

“The monkey is awake and he said it's Elaine. Wait, he said he wants to talk to you two. Wait a minute, you motherfucker, Louis,” Kaizer said and heard that the two started to quarrel again. Juliana shuddered as she greeted her brother Louis.

"H...h-ello," she stammered. Alexa was next to her who's already sweating in nervousness. 

Holy shit, all her life, this is the only instance she failed. Her family is used to her never making mistakes in anything so they expect so much from her. They also always expect her to be at the top of the class because for them, a Montemayor should always be the lead. 

"Make sure you don't mess up," Louis said but it was enough to make the two even more feel nervous. They don’t know if they should tell the young man they messed up or wait for him to watch the news. 

Would Louis be so upset if they told him what had happened? 

Juliana immediately shook her head from the idea. He would definitely be angry and that's what she was sure of. 

“Of course, Brother. All right, it's choppy here. The signal is too weak,” she reasoned. She prompted Alexa to make noises so her reason will seem valid. 

"Wait, I'm not finished yet," Louis said, but Juliana finally ended the call and began to take deep breaths. 

"I don't know what to do," she said. 

They slowly exited the restroom. They went to their usual place but someone was already sitting there, so they just find other chairs for themselves. Juliana was surprised when someone suddenly handed her what she ordered earlier. When she looked up, she immediately recognized the person. 

It is the bartender across the counter. The young man who is as handsome as Adonis. 

“Your order, ma’am. I hope this drink will make you smile,” the young man said and handed her the sex on the beach cocktail she ordered earlier. 

It included a letter that she immediately opened. Her frown's been replaced with a smile.

"Who could have a boyfriend but still admire other boys?" Xandra asked from behind her. She was severely startled before hiding the letter in her pocket. 

"What? You're thinking it wrong!" She almost shrieked and started drinking the cocktail. 

Actually, it is only now that she felt a thrill for a man. Perhaps her colleagues will think that she is a cheater because he already has a boyfriend and she is still into other men, but they are mistaken about that. Since he is not her real boyfriend. She only helped the young man get his inheritances. 

Lexus’ parents are too strict so he can’t find anyone to help him pretend until he met Juliana who is perfect for all his parents’ wishes. But what about her freedom to fall in love if the moment she is seen with another man, her friend will be discovered?
