Chapter 2: Baby Elixir

"Let me out!"

"I have to go and see my dad because he's got a gunshot wound!” I shouted at Elixir's staff, who had been preventing me from leaving the house.

I want to get home, find out how Dad is doing, and get out of this prison.

"No, Senorita, Senorito forbids you to leave the mansion," a man said, with a large body and a large scar on his cheek.

"I'll be back. I just want to see my father. Is that possible?" I said. I was still trying to push him to get out of the room. The problem was that he was so strong and so heavy that I couldn't even move him from where he was standing.

"It's not possible."

“But—”

"Wait for Senorito to come home and ask him; otherwise, that one will get angry, so I'm warning you to behave." I felt fear from what he said. Rather than continue to nag, I closed the door.

I bit my fingers as I paced around this room, wondering how I could get out of this hellish mansion. Only then did the veranda of this room enter my mind.

I quickly walked towards it and smiled when I saw the door of the veranda open. After looking at the height, I knew it was high where I was sitting, but there was a tall branch of a tree not far from me.

"If I pass through here, I will be able to get off safely," I said to myself.

I mustered up my courage for a moment before starting my plan. I slowly climbed the railings of this veranda and carefully stepped my left foot towards a nearby branch. I held my breath to do that. I almost applauded myself when I finally got down. I looked around first and guessed that it was already seven o'clock in the evening. It's so dark, I can only see the lights on the poles.

I started running and headed to the woods; I don't know where the proper road is, but if I pass through there, they certainly won't find me, right? I'm just running, but I'm wondering why I can't get out of these woods. I was about to turn right again when a sudden, hair-raising scream stopped me.

“F*ck! Celeste! Run as far as you can! I'll make sure you never walk again!” That voice roared as if it were a lion ready to charge into battle.

Fear made me run faster. I was so tired, but I had to keep running because the sun wouldn't shine on me when he caught me. I was shocked by a deafening pounding in my chest when I heard that voice.

"Get 'em!"

My hair was pulled by someone standing behind me.

I shouted because of the pain of his tugging at me.

"Ahhh!"

"Let go of me!" I screamed.

“You're stubborn! Didn't you say wait for me? I didn't tell you to run away!" He said madly.

Nervously, one of his hands tugged at my hair, and the other wrapped around my waist.

"I am heading home! Let me go! You are a demon!” I screamed and pushed him hard.

"Let's see if you can walk tomorrow after what I'm planning to do to you!" My chest heaved at what he said. Without hesitation, he picked me up like a sack of rice.

I sped up and scratched him on the back, but he did not seem to feel it.

"Ahhh! Get off me! Let me go, you animal! I will report you to the police!”

"I am your husband, Celeste!"

“No! What the hell, let me go!” I didn't realize until we got to the mansion that I had seen the three maids earlier. They poured me water with sharp eyes.

"Sir," one of the slaves said, the woman who looked like a rich woman.

“F*ck off, Susan,” this animal coldly said.

I saw the pain in the eyes of the maid he called Susan. I just didn't fight back and let this man walk. This time we didn't go straight to the room he locked me in; it took us straight to a room I didn't know. I was lying on a very large and soft bed when I realized that things had happened quickly.

"Didn't I say get ready tonight?" Why did you run away? How do you think you can escape me? He said it very coldly, which gave me great fear.

"I just want to see Dad." I whispered. Before I was able to fight, now I am like a scared cat.

Every time he looked at me, he was very serious, and I could feel him caressing my face and body. I was not dumb; I witnessed how he licked his lips while his eyes were on my exposed thighs. I was alarmed, so I covered them with my long blouse.

He was amazed when he saw my nervous face. "What punishment would you like?" he asked.

His smile was playful, and I didn't like what I was thinking at the time. I was about to get off his bed when, in an instant, he pulled me and quickly put me on top of him. My eyes widened. Using his lips, it quickly covered my lips, which shocked me even more.

"Hmm! Hmm..” I resisted and tried to push him.

I gave him a strong slap that stopped him completely.

“D*mn you!”

"We are husband and wife, you might forget,"

“On paper!” I yelled at him angrily.

I saw how he frowned as if he was holding back his anger.

“F*ck! I won't make love to you! Just f*cking let me kiss you! Is that hard?” he shouted back at me.

I was almost deafened by the volume of his screams because our faces were so close together.

“Let me go!"

"Rapist!” I don't know where I got that word from; it just came out of my mouth. I noticed his face and saw sadness in his eyes.

His eyes, which were almost emotionless, were now sorrowful. He slowly stood up and sat on the floor. He acted like a child; he knelt, put his hands together, and buried his face there.

I was even more surprised when his shoulders moved as if he was crying.

"Y-You guys... are always blaming me," he said in a muffled voice.

My eyes widened at his behavior. It's like a five-year-old child when he talks and acts. I was so confused because I didn't know what was going on.

"Don't do that, it's not funny!" I shouted at him.

"Mama, I don't want it anymore, and they're terrible," he said, as if he were talking to someone in front of him.

With trembling legs, I got up my courage and approached himHis arm was quickly cut when he pulled out a knife from under the bed. I was immediately alerted, so I quickly approached him.

"H-Hey... Don't!" I stopped him because he had injured his arm twice.

“Elixir! Help! Help us!” I was hysterical because I saw how much blood was flowing from his arm.

I cried out of pity, as if it were not for him, but I could feel his pain because each of his wounds was deep.

"Mama, I'll take care of myself," he whispered while looking at me with his blue eyes full of pain. I suddenly hugged him.

As a result of what I did, I still felt his tense body. "I'm sorry. That's enough. Please stop. I begged him.

I kept crying on his left shoulder.

It's impossible to take what I see; there's something in his eyes that seems to be looking at me. Watching him hurt himself, and not knowing what else to do terrified me. I was scared of what he could do to me, but what he did to me scared me even more. I felt people behind me. They must be his staff.

"Señorito! Señorita!” I'm still not letting go of Elixir's embrace. I'm afraid that what's happening might get more serious; my conscience can't handle it.

"I'm okay, Daxel. Just call to treat my wound.”

It felt comforting to have his caresses on my back and occasional kisses on the side of my neck. I didn't complain anymore because I was hungry and tired.

"Baby," I heard him whisper, but I didn't move.

"Come on, I'm fine; you can let that pass," he added, and that's when I let go of him.

I first noticed his blue eyes looking at me peacefully, even though his whole face was pale.

"I'm sorry you saw what you shouldn't have seen," he said with a laugh.

"You're not who you were before," I whispered shakily. It just looked at me and briefly bowed.

"Elixir is one of my personalities; you let him out for reasons I don't know; it's been a long time since he came out, but now..." he said, but for a moment silence prevailed.

"Just forget about it, take a shower, get dressed, and go to sleep." I wanted to talk to him more, but he chose to stand up and leave the room.

Many questions prevailed in my mind as to why he has a different personality, but I have no right to know that because I am not part of his life; I am just his wife on paper.

I was about to stand up when an irritating voice stopped me.

"You have seen the real elixir," she said, turning to me. Susan, one of the maids, who had poured water for me this morning, appeared to me.

"That's just one of the secrets of this mansion; how can you handle it if you discover that there were three before you?" There was a kind of playful smile on her lips that confused my mind even more.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

“Caiden loved the first one so much," she happily said.

“So if I were you..." "I would leave this mansion real quick," she added before leaving me completely.

Many questions are playing in my mind right now, which I don't understand. Three before me? Why does Caiden love the first one so much? What does she mean? Something is pushing me to find out about them, but part of me is telling me not to, and I might screw it up. In the depths of my thoughts, I no longer noticed a handsome man with a beautiful tattoo on his left neck that covered the entirety of his arm. I stared at them because they were so beautiful.

"Ahem," he coughed, which brought me back to my senses.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"I'm Dexel, the doctor of this group. I won't waver anymore; I know you know what I came here for," he said coldly, but surprisingly, I didn't feel afraid of him.

Instead, I stared blankly at him.

"F*ck!" He looked away, which surprised me.

"Caiden has personalities, and one of them is the one you witnessed earlier; the positive thing about this is that he came back immediately, which is surprising because every time Elixir comes out, it takes a few weeks or months before the real Elixir comes back," he said.

"So can you tell me the last thing you said before he did that?" he asked me.

I just bowed down, remembering the last thing I said to him.

"R-Rapist...." I murmured out of shame.

I saw his face darken at what I said.

His look became serious. I bit my lip because I felt like I had made a big mistake.

"He was raped when he was five, but he was also blamed for raping his younger brother to escape the crime he committed." This serious story made my heart beat.

"Because he experienced cruelty at a young age, the elixir you gave me was five-year-old Caiden. I'm the one begging you to teach yourself to love him because we're afraid that the personality we're afraid of encountering might reappear."

Another question troubled my mind. I'm confused - why did I choose this chaotic life?

Who are you, Caiden Elixir? What other secrets do you have that I shouldn't know?
