Trouble in paradise II

He zipped me to the palace gates with speeds I’d never gone before.

I could not do anything but close my eyes to protect them from the dust in my way.

We arrived at the palace for him to drop me at the gate.

“I’ll see you inside,” he said, as I stumbled around while he held me in place. The speed had been too much for me to bear and I was feeling dizzy from that.

“Are you okay?” he asked. That question had been asked so many times I was beginning to think that maybe I was not okay.

I nodded, getting myself up as he walked into the palace.

I followed him into the palace grounds to see Victoria scowling at me.

She had lost this round but I did not care. She was the loser here and not me.

I walked to the shower to bathe just as I found Sinclair getting out of the bathroom with new clothes.

“Where are you going?” I asked in shock.

“Since you’re safe now and I clearly know you would not be leaving anytime soon, I’ve got to get to the pack to meet with some of the elders.”
