Her Truth

It seems that my instinct about Leo was precise. He even brought camaraderie into his huge success in taking over Kristine's empire. He even bought a dead and burned body to make his drama more realistic.

"But, don't worry. I'm not here to put everyone into trouble." I added before I lock the room so that one could see and hear everything that is bound to happen. "after you punch me in the face and manipulated the press that your pregnant wife is having an affair with me, I still forgive you."

Everyone in the room, including Leo, is looking at me like a weirdo, psychopath, and brainless making a scene on their crucial meeting the way I expected.

"Okay, here is what I want to happen." I straighten my crumpled tuxedo shortly. Then I grab a piece of paper and pen from Leo's desk and jotted down something. "here is a bank name and number. Each of you will wire me just a million dollars each."

"Excuse me?" blurted one of them in disbelief.

"Oops, I'm not yet done. Let me finish my statement first." I set the piece of paper in the middle of the meeting table. "Wire me a million dollars each, excluding Mr. CEO, because I already raised the price of his crime."

Everyone is still skeptical about what I am saying to them. They need proof or a threat so they get worried.

"Ten billion dollars," I added. "That's what I need from the new CEO in exchange for the truth about killing his wife, Kristine Mondragon to get what he wanted."

"Did you hear what you just say?" Leo debated. "What else could I expect from a man who is in love with someone married? This man in front of us is the one my wife having an affair with."

Upon hearing that statement, everyone burst out laughing. The worst part is that they all believe in Leo's lies. So to shut their mouths off, I surprise them by confessing each of their long and heinous hidden secrets.

It worked when all I could see were their startled expressions and heard the bulk of water being dragged down to their throats.

"I'll give you all ten seconds to wire the money," I ordered.

"How about I give you two seconds to run and hide?" I don't know when did it happen but Leo was pointing the tip of his gun straight at my head.

As far as my wolf could notice, the fourteen men in the tuxedo who were seated around the table felt at ease. But those feelings simply lasted for two seconds when I snatch the gun in a blink of an eye and pulled the trigger in one of them.

My urge to kill was supposed to hit the man straight to his head but I change my mind. A million dollars from him is a waste if I'm gonna end his life right there and then. So I aim to his right shoulder as my gesture of appreciation. A discount per së.

"You all have three seconds left. Three... Two...", before I could end the counting, all of them rush to the piece of paper and wired me the money.

"You are going to pay for this, you son of a bitch!" exclaims Leo right after I pointed the tip of the gun straight to his head.

"Aren't you supposed to be the one paying me, huh, Mr. CEO?" to make sure he gets my message, I cock the gun while pointing the tip at his head.

After getting what my wolf needs from the fourteen foolish humans at the table, I flash back to my place with an ear-to-ear smile on my face.

Though I only got a promissory note from Leo about my demand in exchange for his secret, I believe in his words that he will not run away from me.

Why would he run away from me? He had a lot of billions waiting for him once he was seated at the CEO position in Krisitine's company. Only foolish people would get threatened by ten billion dollars.

As soon as I got back to the mansion, I found Michelle wandering outside with a bothered expression. "What's going on?" I asked her.

"Kristine was gone," she confessed.

"What do you mean Kristine was gone?" I asked for clarification, then I tossed to her my wallet where my bank card is. She is in charge of checking the funds that got deposited, withdrawing, and buying whatever she wants in them.

"What's there not to understand? She runs away." Michelle followed her glare when I flash to the guest house.

Indeed Kristine was no longer on the bed where I lay her unconscious body. I know how deep the wounds she got from my fangs are. Let alone she lost a lot of blood. Does that mean, she survived my werewolf venom?

"Did you get her scent?" Michelle asked.

"Did you do something to her?" to her surprise, I wrap my hands around her neck and pin her to the wall. "Or should I rephrase the question; did you kill her?"

My wolf has been good to her and her entire family. And I already learned my lesson. Stabbing me behind my back is punishable by death. I will not hesitate to end her life when her worth was a hundred thousand dollars only.

"Are you kidding me, Sebastian?" she insisted despite having a hard time breathing.

"Do you think I am kidding, huh, Michelle? Do you think I don't know why you acted strange recently?" I debated. "you got jealous of her, don't you?"

Michelle's expression suddenly changed which only proves that my instinct was right. Then I let go of my grip when the blood on her face started to explode in her veins.

"One day," I added. "I'll give you one day to find her, Michelle. Your job is to keep an eye on her but you failed me."

I don't know how or why but my wolf finds it hard to accept Kristine disappeared from the mansion. My wolf has not proven yet if the secret she whispered to me is real or not.

Let alone knowing there is this one human brain out of the billions that I cannot read. The feeling was exhausting and suffocating. Before I could say another word to Michelle, I went out of the mansion to come after her scent.

Since I melted into the human world, some of my werewolf abilities becomes dormant, including my ability to follow someone's scent. If not because I have the ability to know human truth and lies, my wolf would be as good as dead by now.
