Chapter 21: The revolt

King Maximilian, determined to involve his son Alexander in the secret league, asked him to escort him to the next meeting with an air of anticipation. The grand hall was shrouded in an eerie atmosphere as Alexander observed the members, faces hidden by hoods and cloaks, gathering in sinister circles. But as he surveyed the room, his heart sank, for he recognized some of these individuals, people he once held in high regard, people he trusted and he wondered what was this place?

The weight of disappointment and embarrassment settled heavily upon Alexander's shoulders. How could his father involve him in such dark and treacherous schemes? He had always admired his father,how bold and strong willed he was ,he looked up to him as a role model and a beacon of honor. But now, it seemed as if that image had shattered before his very eyes.
