Gabriel’s POVThere was never a sight more beautiful than Ellie. She was…absolutely everything, and I adored her so much. To think that day in the library would spiral into this. So much had changed in so little time but I already knew that she was IT.There would be no one else, no one else I’d want or love as much as her, I knew that deep within my soul.Lying there on the bed, sprawled out the way she was and looking so content it felt like a sin to disturb her. Gael and Missael ran her hard, not that I blamed them. We’d all been waiting so long to finally have her like this, as we so desperately craved.Wholly. Intimately. We couldn’t help such desires any more than we could help loving her.Watching had been a strange sort of pleasurable torture, and reassuring in the weirdest of ways, to know that they could take care of her so well when I would be busy and couldn’t be around. And that was the crux of the matter, wasn’t it? When I was the alpha, I’d be busy, there was
Eleonore’s POV Alpha Sined scolded his sons for their actions of preemptively marking me. I was let off rather lightly and given some reading material to go over while he had the guys train until they dropped. Despite that though, the marks remained, mostly covered by my hair and so faint you could barely see them but just brushing my fingers over them made me stupidly happy. After that, it was time to finally return to college. It felt like so long ago since I’d been on the campus, and even though winter was just around the corner the grass was still green as I stepped out of the car and took in the sights. Lush green, students milling about, and plenty of opportunities. So many opportunities that I didn’t know what to do, I was too excited. “I’ll see you guys later, alright!” “Don’t keep us waiting too long, alright?!” Gael called as I hurried off towards my dorm, well, my new dorm. I had already exchanged my keys. After my father cut ties, he pulled away from being a
Eleonore’s POV“I hope I won’t have to explain how you should hold yourself as an Everwood. You are my daughter and you have my name. Don’t embarrass me.”My heart thudded in my chest. It was the first time my father had spoken to me in hours and what came out was a warning. I knitted my fingers together in my lap and nodded compliantly. Any other answer would’ve been the wrong one.“And—” he added, his tone getting a bit darker. My breath grew shallow as I recognized this warning was tinging on the edge of a threat. I held myself still, not daring to look him in the eye. “I hope I don’t have to tell you to stay away from anything supernatural. Wouldn’t want you causing trouble, would we? You’re smarter than that, aren’t you?”“…Yes, Father.”“Of course, you’re my daughter. You know better than that.” He nodded, and that was that, much to my relief, small as it was. At least this time he didn’t slap me. Last car ride we shared was when he was bringing me home from a
Missael’s POVWhat was that? The moment had been all too brief but for some reason the impact lingered, like the light scent of lilac she wore still hanging in the air around me.I’d rounded the corner, trying to head back to our apartment after orientation, when her delicate frame collided into me and threatened to topple backward. Her vibrant eyes took me by surprise as I caught her trembling torso in my palm. It wasn’t like I was going to let her fall to the ground, even though she ran into me, but the reaction to having her in my hold… hadn’t been the reaction I’d expected. On either of our parts. She trembled as soon as we collided but when our eyes met, she looked like a bird caught on a wire. I felt her sudden desperation to be free of my hold but was too stunned to speak or even move as she pulled back. She turned her mesmerizing eyes away, breaking whatever spell had stunned me in time to see the swish of her hair as it flowed around in the air behind her.
Eleonore’s POV My alarm went off at eight in the morning. I’d miss the breakfast hours in the caf getting up this late, but the morning called for a coffee and pastry which I could easily get from one of the nearby coffee shops. It was the first day of classes and I couldn’t have been more excited for them. I’d have my preceptorial course first thing in the morning, followed by a mandatory math class I wasn’t looking forward to, and then my elective course, the whole reason I was here.Introductions to Architecture and Design. The same course my mother took decades ago when she first attended Oakwood University.I quickly got ready, going through my morning routine. After getting dressed and brushing my hair, I picked up an orange pill bottle and popped out two pills, the required dose, before swallowing them dry.Another stipulation for attending. If I attended then I had to remember to take my medicine every morning and if I forgot, there would be hell to pay. I knew
Gabriel’s POVHer eyes were green. That’s what I noticed about her.It was bordering on hazel but no, they were closer to green than anything else. When I went to the library it was with the intention of getting some books on business to get a head start on my courses. Micro and Macroeconomics were unfortunately a required course and not something I was looking forward to either. After university father would be shifting a lot of responsibilities onto me so I could get used to leading the pack as the future alpha. That also meant managing the businesses we had that kept us funded.I had just been there for books, then I saw her. It seemed that I wasn’t the only one trying to get a head start.Seeing the person that had caught Missael’s attention had me making the decision to confront her myself. I knew that Missael wanted to drop the whole thing and forget about it, but I couldn’t, not when he acted so odd afterwards.Normally, Missael was the most levelheaded out of
Eleonore’s POVOnce? Happenstance. I could live with that. Survived worse, was paranoid from less. Twice? Time to PANIC.The moment the werewolf in front of me faltered and got distracted, I booked it out of there like killing me in the library was his modus operandi. Not that he would’ve, looking back on it, seeing as a murder like that would’ve been as easy to figure out as a game of Clue, but still. The panic was in charge after that. Not one werewolf but two seemed interested in me, from an accident. It felt so unfair that a moment of distraction could wreck my campus life but here we were.I wondered if I would have to look over my shoulder now, looking out for gold eyes and anything else that was supernatural that I wasn’t supposed to be involved in.That was the RULE. The lines I had to stay in to have what I wanted, and they were severely messing up the scant few opportunities I DID have under my father’s rule.I had managed to get back to my dorm after escapin
Gael’s POVI slammed the door to our apartment open as soon as I returned. After leaving the library I practically sprinted back. I wished there was dinner waiting like I said in my lie if only to give me something to do to avoid the messy thoughts in my head.I finally understood why Gabriel and Missael were so confused about what happened, and what they felt because it wasn’t what it was supposed to be.When I handed her my phone our fingers brushed. It was a test, just a test. Had to check if my instincts would flare up on me, make sure some territorial thing going on between us wasn’t the reason for all this. That sure as hell wasn’t the reason but I wished it was!We touched, there was a small spark, and I practically lost it. Missael, okay, I always thought he’d feel the matebond first. Gabriel, it wasn’t necessary, but he was always going to find a mate, and he had enough luck for a fated mate. Me? Maybe, I was social enough for it.All three of us, well we had ho
