Chapter 14- Be Careful What You Wished For

Amberleigh tried to press her father for more information, but he reiterated the fact he didn’t want to say much over the phone and to hurry. That naturally didn’t make Amber feel any better as she scrambled from the bed and shoved her feet into her sneakers. She wondered what the fuck had transpired over the last three hours when Grayson was supposed to be sleeping over in his office? How the fuck had he wound up with her father, and more importantly what had happened to him?

Several more questions ran through her troubled mind as Amber tried not to fucking panic. Grayson was injured enough to need medical attention, that much she knew. But how badly he’d been hurt, how, and by whom was still up in the air. She was already to the door when she looked back at Leo. He was redressed in the clothes he’d worn the night before with his car keys already in hand.

“Leo, we have to hurry! You heard what my father said.”

She tried to keep her words even, but she still heard the hint of panic
