Evening came and Molly was at the house taking a warm shower from having her ice bath. Enjoying the feel of the warm water upon her cold skin when just then she sharply turned her head to the side as though having heard something, as at the same time a strange shiver ran down her spine. She had had shivers run down her spine many times before but this one was different, it almost hurt and for a while she just stood there wondering what it could mean. Was she sick? Was she coming down with something? Was her life in danger? There was that feeling that came over her when the chasen was about to show up but it wasn't that either. It was like it but much more subtle which meant it had to be something else, but what? What was this strange feeling that was coming over her?
At the same time, Det. Brighton was on the road driving to the very house from work; listening to some country music playing on the radio and quite collected on the outside but on the inside eager to see Molly;
Five months later, it was a new year and Molly and Dylan had moved to a house in a quiet suburban neighborhood; two stories high with a green yard and a swimming pool in the backyard. Molly was out front seeing Dylan off, he had gotten into the Rosenborg Academy and he and classmates were going on a two week trip to Italy to learn about ancient Rome as part of their history tour. Every year each class would fly out to a different country on a two week trip to learn as much as they could about its history and at the end of it a paper would be written on it; a way that the academy makes learning fun and exciting. "O.k. so Mrs. Felix has your phone and your phone has my number so when you get there you call me and I mean immediately young man, you call mommy and tell her that you've landed safely and then when you get to the hotel you call me again to show mommy how nice the place you're staying at is alright? So that she can feel like she's in Italy too o.k.?" Molly sa
Night time came and Molly and Det. Brighton were in bed changed into their night clothes watching a movie. "Ugh such a sexy pairing. We could have totally played those parts," she said. "Why?" he asked. "What do you mean why? Because they're pairing is just like ours." "No it's not, he's way older than her." "Yeah just like you are," Molly said. "No." "Yes." "He's thirty years older than her," Det. Brighton said. "Yes and you are older than me about that much." "By how much?" "Twenty-five," she answered. "What!" "Yeah. You are twenty-five years older than me." "Whoa o.k. hold up in my defense I liked you long before you were twenty so that twenty-five year age gap does not apply to us," he said. "Hey what was that?" "What? What was what?" "You liked me long before I was Molly Hammers," Molly said. "Did I say that? I did not say that."
Evening came and Molly and Det. Brighton were sitting at the dining table having a meal. He had brought some takeout with him and they were enjoying their food with their beverages; a glass of apple juice for her and a bottle of beer for him. “So I was thinking about what we talked about yesterday,” Det. Brighton said. “O.k.,” Molly responded. “Yeah.” “And?” “And . . . Sure,” he said. “Sure as in you’ll let me leave the house to do stuff?” “Yes.” “Oh my gosh,” she said grinning. “Really?” “Yes.” “Oh my gosh.” “But not everything you mentioned, just some of it. I will allow you three days of the week out of the house,” Det. Brighton said. “Just three?” “What do you mean just three? Three is a lot of days especially for someone who's growing a baby and needs all the rest in the world to grow it nice.” “You know what else I need to grow the baby nice too? Exercise,” Molly sai
Molly fought the chasen. It tried to get her but she used everything Rodrick taught her to not only evade it but land attacks on it too.It punched and kicked through the walls, destroyed furniture and even pulled the chandelier off the ceiling of the foyer to throw at her but she moved out of the way. She fell to the floor and when she looked up, from being about four meters out, the chasen was standing right in front of her.Molly wanted to crawl in between its legs but it grabbed her by one of her legs and lifted her up by it; upside down and with her t shirt falling over her face and exposing her bare belly and the short vest she was wearing underneath it.The chasen punched her in the face and then placed its hand over her face to begin sucking her soul out; pinning her hard against the wall.Her hands still glowing, Molly grabbed its hand trying to get it off and the second she did the chasen groaned and pulled its hand away from her face and lookin
Later that night, Molly and Det. Brighton were at a motel. They had booked one of the rooms and were inside catching their breaths from what just happened, especially Molly who was completely shaken she had locked herself in the bathroom and was sitting down in the empty bath tub wearing a bath robe. She had showered and had her bruises patched up and her cuts stitched at the hospital and was just sitting there crying like a child. Molly couldn't believe what just happened. She couldn't believe that she had just faced another chasen; something that she was assured would never happened. Rodrick told her that the only way she was ever going to be free was if she killed the chasen that was after her and that was what she did but it didn't work. The chasen that was after her may have been killed but another one popped up and took up right where the last one left off, why? How? Rodrick had been free from the chasen that wanted his life for twenty-plus years and there she
Night time came and Molly and Det. Brighton were in bed sleeping. He was peacefully asleep but she wasn't. She was tossing and turning and had droplets of sweat all over her face, neck and chest; with her breathing quite heavy like she was from running. She wasn't having a very pleasant dream. In her dream she was running on a narrow path in the middle of a dark vast area away from the chasen that was right behind her, with its arm stretched forward wanting to grab her. Molly was screaming but her voice wasn't coming out; screaming on top of her voice for Eric to help her but it was like she was in a vaccum. She couldn't hear anything. Not the sound of her voice, not her foot steps on the concrete path and not the chasen growling behind her; a chasen that was growling so hard it had veins popping out on the side of its head. The path came to an end and seeing it Molly tried to stop but she couldn't stop herself in time. She slid over the end but held onto the
Night fell and in their room Molly and Det. Brighton were sleeping. Like the two nights before, he was peacefully asleep and she was tossing and turning, having another nightmare about the chasen. She was sweating and heavily breathing and out of nowhere she sat up shouting. Det. Brighton popped awake and turned to her. "Babe, what's going on?" he asked as she just sat there and went on shouting with her hands on her belly. "Oh my gosh are you in labour? That's impossible, you can't be in labour," he said moving closer to her. "I'm not, it's just cramps. Ugh!! Really, really bad cramps, oh my gosh," she said squeezing her face. "O.k. um what did the class say to do when you started having cramps um breathe. Long deep breaths in and out," he said and Molly tried it but the pain was overwhelming. "Ugh! It's not working. Ow! Ow!" "Try again baby, long deep breaths in and out, come on breathe with me." She breathed with him for a few breat
Days passed and Molly woke up. Her eyes slowly opened and looking around at where she was she saw that she was in a small room with flowers and herbs everywhere and with someone sitting by her bedside. "Eric," she gently called out to him and he lifted his head looking at her. "Oh my gosh baby," Det. Brighton said and stood up; immediately walking up to her. "You're awake." He sofly held her hand and leaned down to kiss her all her face and then placed his forehead against hers, with the both of them closing their eyes and allowing themselves the feel of each other's beautiful energies. He then kissed her cheek and stood up straight. "How are you feeling?" Molly took a moment as tears began to build in her eyes. "Not good." Streams of tears ran down her face. "I don't feel good at all," Molly said and wiped her tears away. "I know." "How long have I been asleep?" "A week." "A week? Oh my gosh Dylan," Molly said wanting to sit u
