Days passed and Molly woke up. Her eyes slowly opened and looking around at where she was she saw that she was in a small room with flowers and herbs everywhere and with someone sitting by her bedside.
"Eric," she gently called out to him and he lifted his head looking at her.
"Oh my gosh baby," Det. Brighton said and stood up; immediately walking up to her. "You're awake." He sofly held her hand and leaned down to kiss her all her face and then placed his forehead against hers, with the both of them closing their eyes and allowing themselves the feel of each other's beautiful energies. He then kissed her cheek and stood up straight. "How are you feeling?" Molly took a moment as tears began to build in her eyes.
"Not good." Streams of tears ran down her face. "I don't feel good at all," Molly said and wiped her tears away.
"I know."
"How long have I been asleep?"
"A week."
"A week? Oh my gosh Dylan," Molly said wanting to sit u
Minutes later, Det. Brighton was in his car driving down the road. He had his phone to his ear and was calling someone. "Eric?" the voice on the other end of the call said answering the phone. "Rod!" "What? What's wrong?" "Is Molly at home?" Det. Brighton asked. "What do you mean is Molly at home? She's at the hospital. Aren't you there right now? You said you were going to be taking today's night shift." "I am. I was." "So what's going on?" Rodrick asked. He was in bed and was fast asleep until the call came in and he woke up to answer it. "She's gone." "What!" He sat up as his heart immediately began to race. "Gone? What do you mean gone?" "Gone as in missing. She's missing." "Eric what are you talking about?" Rodrick asked, throwing the covers off of him and moving to the edge of the bed. "I was away from the room for about twenty minutes and when I got back she was gone." "Wha
Night time fell and as Molly was upstairs in bed sleeping, Det. Brighton, Vera and Rodrick were sitting in the living room talking about all the things that had happened recently but most of all how to end the terror of the chasens over Molly's life and finally set her free from being hunted and killed. "We have to do something," Vera said. "Yes we do but what," Rodrick said. "We had a plan and it completely blew up in our faces so we have nothing." "This is too much for her. It's too much. If it carries on with no hope in sight of how to fix it I fear we might lose her." "I don't know what to do. I don't even know what to say to her anymore," Det. Brighton said. "So much bad has been happening telling her that everything is going to be o.k. is starting to sound stupid. I . . . I don't know what to do." "I am so sorry for what happened Eric. So, so sorry." "Me too." "Goodness, why are they after her so strongly? Why do they wan
Molly, Det. Brighton, Vera and Rodrick went on talking about their plan to travel to the chasens' planet and destroy the tower that controlled them all; a plan that Molly just said she was going to execute on her own. "Are you crazy? Absolutely not. The plan is insane enough as it is, letting you go all the way out there by yourself is absolutely out of the question," Det. Brighton said. "Molly no," Vera said. "Yes," Molly said. "Going all the way to their planet by yourself? No," Det. Brighton said. "That is not happening. We're a team so we are going to carry out this plan together." "Of course we're going to carry out the plan together but when it comes time for us to move through the portal to their planet, it won't be us it'll just be me." "No." "Yes," Molly said. "No." "Eric, it has to be me to do it. You know that." "This is not just about you babe it's about all of us," Det. Brighton said.
Days later Det. Brighton was given the information he had requested for on Simon Withers; his phone number, his email and his address and he, Molly and Rodrick drove out to his place to see him. He lived in a cabin in the middle of nowhere and they had to be on the road two hours just to get there. They turned into a dusty road and followed it all the way through the trees to a well designed two story cabin about a whole km away from the main road.Det. Brighton parked the car out front and as they came out, the front door opened and through it walked Simon; a man in his mid-fifties with messy hair dressed in a robe and pajama bottoms."Well I'll be damned," Simon said. "Roddy is that you?""It's me," Rodrick answered."What the heck are you doing here?""Good to see you too. Can we come in?""No," Simon answered. "What do you want? Who are these people?""These are my friends. Molly and Eric.""Det. Eric Brighton," he s
Days passed and as Simon acquired the resources needed to make the bomb to blow up the chasens' command center tower, Molly and Rodrick resumed their training; whipping her into shape to take on the mammoth tasked that had fallen before her. Jumping rope, doing push ups, bar ups, crunches, punching, kicking, kneeing and elbowing the punching bag, running on the treadmill and shadow boxing. Lots and lots of shadow boxing; with Rodrick pushing her to more of the limit than he did the last time. Hours of training Molly and Rodrick took a rest; with her lying down on the floor breathing heavily and him sitting on the bench quenching his thirst with a bottle of water. "You have to learn how to control your power," he said. "They just come on whenever there's a chasen around, so the second I go through the portal they'll come on," she said. "We're not sure about that." "Yes we are, it's what has been happening this whole time." "But
A new day came and it was time to head out. They packed everything they needed into the back and just like that they were off; Molly, Det. Brighton and Rodrick, leaving Vera behind who they all hugged before they left. Especially Molly who she held onto for a good minute. "You are so brave my love, what you are doing, it is beyond what anyone should ever do. Such sacrifices are too big for one person to make. It's not fair," Vera said. "It's o.k. Vera. Everything's going to be o.k.," Molly said; holding on to her too as tears came to both their eyes; taken so much by the warmth that came from being in each other's arms they didn't want to let go. That could be the last time they were ever going to do so. That could be the last time they ever saw each other and so they had to make that moment last for as long as they could. It was Vera that brought the truth to light. If it wasn't for her Molly wouldn't have known what she really was, what was going on with he
Molly, Det. Brighton and Rodrick were out in the desert waiting on for the chasen to show up; with her tapping into more of the fear she had for it so that it could sniff her out and show up. "This is going to work right?" Det. Brighton asked. "Yeah," Rodrick answered. "It has to." "And she's going to come back right?" "Absolutely. The plan is going to work and everything is going to be o.k." "O.k." An hour later the sun started to rise in the horizon and out of nowhere from just laying there still with her eyes closed, they popped open and Molly quickly sat up. "She's up, something's happening," Det. Brighton said as Molly then stood up. "Oh man, something is definitely up." They got themselves more into position as Molly then took a few steps back; looking all around her like she was waiting for something to happen. Just then her hands starting glowing and they all immediately knew what it meant. "Dammit, her
A portal opened and out of it walked the chasen. It was back to finish Molly off. She saw it and she thought it would come straight for her but the first thing it headed for were its fallen chasens. It reached the first one and threw it through its portal and it closed behind it. It then did the same to all the chasens and all the portals but one closed. The chasen then turned to look at her and started walking up to her. Molly was on the ground on all fours; she was still crawling and pulling the back pack with the bomb and detonator inside it behind her but had stopped for a breather, struggling to breathe whilst coughing out even more blood. Not only was she bleeding from her mouth and nose but from her wounds as well, losing more and more blood and strength quick. So drained that when the chasen showed up her hands glowed but with a very dim light; her body didn't have the power to light them up to the capacity they were at before. It walked up to her, kicked the back pack away
