Chapter 7[Breakfast]

I woke up panting like I just ran an ultra-marathon. I just had a nightmare that Romano found me and sold me to a mafia don, and I missed my graduation.

Oh, it wasn’t a dream, it is my fucking reality, and I might just miss my own graduation.

I massaged my temple and tried to calm down. I have to find a way to convince Luciano to let me go back to L.A., even if it is just for two weeks.

“Dear God, thank you for waking me up again this morning. I pray that my day is less shi…frustrating and that I don’t miss my finals and graduation, and I pray that Sophie and Mom are okay. Amen.” After saying my prayers, I yelled into my pillow, went to the bathroom, did my business, and dressed. I wore a sleeveless, knee-length floral dress and did my hair in a rough ponytail.
