Chapter 22.

The black car came to a halt close to the entrance of the park, which was close to were Tory and Melissa sat. Melissa grimaced as she got a view of the car that she was familiar with. The window to the front seat opened and Melissa felt her stomach churn as she gazed at the person sitting in the car.

It was Jack, the loan shark. He was grinning at her and his long black hair was tied up in a man bun.

“Hey, I was driving around the neighbourhood and I spot you sitting in this dark park looking all depressed. Couldn’t help but stop by.” He said, grinning from ear to ear.

Tory tugged on Melissa’s shirt to get her attention.

“Who is he?” she mouthed.

“Loan shark.”

“What do you want now? The week isn’t over yet.”
