"We'll talk outside," said Amanda.
Amanda rose from her seat before leaving the child. She first pulled Alana's blanket up so her child wouldn't get cold.
Amanda came out first, followed by Henry. She deliberately spoke outside so Alana would not hear if she woke up.
Alana can't hear her conversation with Henry, let alone the matter being discussed about her.
The young mother did not want Henry to discover the truth about her twins.
Amanda and Henry headed to a hospital garden right behind Alana's ward.
The young mother sat on one of the park benches. Henry wanted to sit in one chair, but knew his ex-wife would refuse to sit near him.
"Manda, answer my question honestly!" Henry asked, "Is Alana my daughter?" asked the man again.
Henry repeatedly asked the same question to Amanda. He hoped that his ex-wife would give a different answer than before.
Amanda was silent momentarily after hearing Henry's question, which she had been asked more than twice. She exhaled roughly, then answered firmly.
"She's not your daughter!" Amanda confirmed once again. "She is my daughter!"
"She is my and your child. Alana is our child, isn't she?" Henry wished that Alana was his daughter.
"Can't you understand what I'm talking about? Alana is not your daughter!" Annoyed, Amanda emphasized once more.
"But her blood type and mine are the same, Amanda. You don't lie to me?"
"I'm not lying to you. I'm telling the truth. Alana is not your child!" hit Amanda one more time. She will not get tired of saying that Alana is not her ex-husband's child.
"If she's not my daughter, why is his blood type the same?" His ex-wife's words did not convince Henry. He kept pressing Amanda, to be honest.
He hopes Amanda is honest with the facts. In Henry's little heart, he was sure that Alana was his flesh and blood.
"Are you the only one with AB blood type?" Amanda asked sarcastically, "but I'm still grateful, and I thank you very much for helping Alana."
"If she's not my daughter, then whose? We haven't been separated for six years, but you already have a child who is five years old. It is that she is my child, Manda!" presses Henry.
"If I say no, that means no!" Amanda answered firmly but didn't dare to look into the eyes of Henry, who was standing before her.
"Look me in the eye and tell is not my daughter!" he ordered.
Amanda was silent. Instead of looking into her ex-husband's eyes, Amanda lowered her head.
"You are not brave?" asked Henry a little sarcastically.
Getting that question made Amanda a little angry. She stared at Henry closely. "You want the real answer? OK, I'll answer. She is not your child!" Amanda said while looking into her ex-husband's eyes.
Even though Amanda had met his eyes, Henry didn't just believe it. The man is still pressing his ex-wife to say yes to his question.
"Alana is my child with my new husband," said Amanda.
"You've remarried?" Henry stared intently at his ex-wife.
"After divorcing you, it wasn't long before I got married and got pregnant with Alana. Now she is only four years old, not five years old," said Amanda, breaking Henry's conviction.
"After the divorce, you immediately got married? You are great!" Henry's voice was sarcastic. The man also dared to sit next to his ex-wife. Amanda shifted slightly.
"Yes, I'm great. It's not difficult for me to find a replacement husband after we divorce."
Amanda was forced to speak so Henry would no longer question her daughter.
"Is she the daughter's your mistress?" Henry smiled mockingly.
"You are so right. Alana was my daughter and my first affair. So, don't ask again about Alana because she's not your child!" Amanda said emphatically.
Inside, Amanda felt guilty for hiding the facts, but she couldn't do anything but that.
Henry and Amanda were still sitting together on a park bench. The two of them fell silent with their thoughts racing. Henry's mind was filled with lingering questions about Alana.
"I will still be responsible for paying for hospital administration." Finally, Henry spoke after a long silence. The man also stood up to prepare to leave.
"You don't have to do it!" Amanda replied spontaneously.
The woman also stood in the way of Henry, who was about to step. The man frowned at his ex-wife.
"I have to do it?" Henry still insists on being responsible to be closer to Alana because he wants to find the truth for himself. "She's my responsibility."
"But she's not your child," Amanda replied.
"Yes, she is not my daughter, but I have run her over. So, I'm in charge of taking care of Alana's entire administration."
Henry can use that as an excuse to keep meeting with Alana and discovering the truth about the girl he ran into.
"No need, I can do it myself. You better go home!" Amanda said, walking away. However, her hands were blocked by her ex-husband.
"Amanda, I only have good intentions for you. I'm sorry to make you uncomfortable, but I need to do this. Hospital fees are very expensive, you—"
"Do you think I am incapable? You think that I am still poor?" Amanda asked, interrupting her ex-husband's words while curling one corner of her lips. "Don't forget! I already have a husband. He will be responsible for me and Alana."
Memories of events a few years ago entered Amanda's brain when her in-laws didn't like her existence because she was a poor girl. Now Henry insults her, saying as if she can't afford the hospital bills.
"Amanda, that's not what I meant. I only "
"Even though I'm a poor woman, I can work hard for my child. I also have a husband, so you don't have to do it," Amanda explained, interrupting Henry's words again.
"What's wrong if I pay? Don't be stubborn, Amanda." Henry slightly raised his voice.
"Alana is my daughter. She is my responsibility," Amanda said with emphasis. She threw at her ex-husband's hand.
It's not that Amanda doesn't want her ex-husband to be responsible. It's just that he doesn't want her daughter's identity to be revealed. She doesn't want Henry to know that Alana is his biological child.
So far, Amanda has been raising her child. Under no circumstances does she fight for happiness for Alana and Alan. Now Henry comes again when Alana is five years old. Amanda is not willing for Henry to take her children.
Amanda ran to the administrative center to pay for her daughter's medication. The woman's tears were forced out when she saw such a large hospital bill.
"Where can I get this much money?"
Amanda can't pay it, but she doesn't want to accept help from Henry because she doesn't wish the identities of her twins to be exposed. She will continue to hide Alana and Alan's identity until she is ready to reveal it to her children later.Henry is not a man who is easily deceived. Seeing Amanda's behavior makes the man suspicious as if the woman is hiding something."Why do you keep following me? I already told you I'm telling the truth. Now it's up to you to believe it or not." Amanda looks frustrated when her ex still follows her."I just wanted to take responsibility, but you forbade it." Henry was stubborn. He didn't care about Amanda's ban."Okay, if you want to be responsible, now take care of Alana in her room. I'll be home in a while to pick up Alana's needs," Amanda said, slightly pushing Henry's body so as not to get too close to her. "Let me take you to pick up Alana's stuff," Henry said."I'll take it myself!" she insisted."Amanda, let me help you. You were once a par
Henry pressed the button on the bed to call the doctor. He panicked when Alana regained consciousness after crying hysterically.Henry was worried that Alana had been seriously injured in the accident. Although it wasn't entirely his fault that the child herself ran into the middle of the road, he couldn't just let go of the responsibility. As a result, Henry must now be trapped again with his past love. After waiting for a while, the doctor arrived and immediately examined Alana. "I've given her some medicine, she'll wake up soon," said the doctor, "it's best if someone close to the patient takes care of her so that when she wakes up, she won't be hysterical because she knows him.""Yes, Doctor. Thank you very much," Henry said to the doctor before the man in the white coat left Alana's room. After some time, William came to the infirmary after paying the hospital administration."Everything is in order, Boss. I have paid all of Alana's hospital fees." William only reported but did n
"Amanda, where's Alan? Why does Alana go to school alone?" asked William, his boss's ex-wife, who no longer wanted to be called madam because she was no longer Henry's wife. "Alan has a fever. So he doesn't go to school," Amanda replied, "Willy, I'm not ready to tell Henry about all this," Amanda said while turning to the little girl lying down. "I won't say anything to the boss until I get your approval. You just relax, I'll take care of everything. You'll be fine." William was willing to do anything for the good of the people his boss loved. Although later hated by Henry. "But, I'm confused. Where else would I find that much money to pay the hospital bills? I refused Henry's help because I was afraid he knew everything." Amanda was downcast. She had no choice but to refuse the help she needed so that Henry wouldn't discover Alana's identity. "You take it easy, Amanda, I've taken care of Alana's administration. You just take good care of Alana and Alan." Amanda straightened her
Henry ran out of patience. He is forced to remind Sonya of the truth of the relationship that brought them together. Sonya's arranged marriage cannot be separated from business.Sonya realizes that Henry's love for her is insincere. She believes that Henry will be easily defeated after Amanda's absence, but the truth is that Henry still has no desire to remarry after six years of divorce."Annoying!" Sonya was angry at Henry's treatment of her. The woman got up and looked sharply at her lover.Instead of being scared after Henry's anger, Sonya challenged Henry. She was sure that her fiancé would do everything his mother said. And that's why she will continue to approach her future in-laws."Why are you angry? I should be angry because you've gone too far." Henry threw up his hands. "Give me back my cell phone!"Henry was dumbfounded at the woman in front of him. Instead of apologizing, she was angry.'She is very different from Amanda. Very different,' Henry thought.Sonya returned Hen
Amanda fell to her knees in front of her husband and in-laws with tears in her eyes. No matter how hard she tried to deny the allegations, Henry and his mother would not believe her because the evidence of infidelity was in plain sight. "You can't deny it anymore, Amanda. You and your lover have taken advantage of my son's great love for you." Mrs Vena was furious to learn the truth about her daughter-in-law. Henry was more silent. He was speechless. His heart was broken into pieces. The woman he loved so much was slowly killing his feelings. "Mom, believe me. I never cheated on you." Amanda continued to beg for forgiveness for a deed she had never done. "Look at this picture! Have you forgotten the last time you did that?" Mrs. Vena showed Amanda a picture of her with a man doing very embarrassing things. "This is so disgusting!" Henry could no longer think clearly. The image of his wife's behaviour with another man destroyed his self-esteem, so the divorce was inevitable. Afte
Henry could only mumble after his fiancée left. He couldn't possibly tell Sonya that he would pursue him love again. He would do it quietly, and Henry even planned to start a closer relationship with Amanda without him family knowing. Although Amanda repeatedly said that she was married again, Henry didn't seem to care about his ex-wife's current status. "Amanda is much better than any woman. Her only mistake was betraying me, but I only hate her with my mouth. Deep down, I still love you very much, Amanda." Henry leaned back and closed his eyes. 'What you did to me was very painful, but why does my love for you not diminish one bit,' Henry thought. Looking back, it hurt Henry to know that the woman he loved so much had betrayed his love. But strangely enough, despite being separated for almost six years, he still loved his ex-wife very much. Henry straightened his seat, then looked back. "You're a very troublesome woman Sonya," Henry said when he saw his fiancée's belongings sti
Henry called his assistant again. "Willy, please handle the meeting this afternoon. I'm going home, my head is spinning.""Okay, Boss," Wiliam replied, "then I'll take you home first." William glanced at the watch on his wrist. "There's still two hours before the meeting.""Alright. I'm also afraid of hurting people again if I drive." Henry hung up the call and leaned back as he swivelled his chair around. In less than two minutes, William was already in Henry's room because their workspaces were on the same floor.William stood in front of his Boss's desk. "Come, boss."Henry got up and stepped out of the office first.William followed his Boss's long strides while muttering to himself. 'The Boss must be thinking about Alana and Amanda. Even though he's Alana's biological father, there must be a bond between them.'"Would you like to see Alana first, Boss?" asked William as he opened the door for his Boss."Actually, I'd like to see her, but Sonya is angry with me and suspicious of me
"She's delirious," William said after hearing the babbling of the little girl who was still closed her eyes. "Alana, wake up, dear." William gently rubbed Alana's cheek as the child looked so agitated that she was sweating.Alana opened her eyes and cried. "Uncle, I saw my father coming," Alana said."Then why are you crying?" asked William, "did he make you sad?"Alana shook her head as she cried. "I haven't seen his face yet, but Uncle woke me up.""Oh God, then please forgive Uncle." William clasped his hands together as he apologized to the girl. "You seemed restless earlier, so Uncle woke you up.""It's okay, Uncle. I'm not angry with you." Alana smiled as she held William's hand. "My father wanted to take me away, but I didn't want to be separated from Mom, Alan, and Uncle. I love you more than my father because he doesn't love me and Alan."William stroked the child's head gently. "Alana, good girl, don't talk like that. There is no parent who does not love their child.""Yes, U
