PROLOGUE.
She had a dream that haunted her.
The dream that always took her back to her past made her remember him, and she could do nothing about it in the maze that was her dream.
The boy held her hand like he would never let go, like she was all there was and when the gigantic man in front of them tried to attack, she used her body to cover him, taking the brunt of the knife against her back.
The scene transferred to another in her dream and she was in a car, a tumbling one at that, making her feel panic against her chest.
“Alva!” a voice shouted, making her turn, and she saw her mother in the driver's seat looking scared for both of them.
“Mummy!”
“Alva!”
She woke up.
