Chapter Fifteen

“Elyon Rosella Devane!”. Cesar bellowed as he marched into the cafeteria.

Everyone quieted as they watched the boss glance around with a thunderous pissed off look on his face. He was dressed in black jeans and a green polo shirt which had never happened before.

“Elyon!!”. He called.

They wondered what his precious personal assistant had done to upset the boss-their ever calm boss looked mad.

Mad didn’t actually cut it. He was murderously angry and anyone who stepped out of line was doomed.

They looked at each other waiting for someone to talk until the head of the IT department stood up to talk on their behalf.

“Sir..she’s not here.” Cole Thorton informed him in a tremulous voice.

“Where is she?”. Cesar bit out.

“Um..don’t know sir." Cole said and looked around. "Does anyone know where she is?”.

They all shook their heads quickly.

“Tell her to see me when she gets back.” Cesar rumbled then turned and stormed out.

“Yes sir.” Cole said but Cesar was long gone.

The rumor mongers began spreading rumors about what could have happened between the boss and his assistant that caused him to lose his shit.

Did that mean that Elyon’s job was in danger?.

Elyon felt very strange as she walked into the lobby of the building. She didn’t know what it was but she could feel that something was about to go down.

“Hey Gina.” Ellie greeted the receptionist.

“Oh Ellie!where did you go?”. Gina asked.

“Um I went to the bank. Why?”. She replied. "Is everything okay?".

“The boss wants to see you in his office. He was very angry when he came in a while ago." Gina told her. "Cole Thorton almost pissed his pants when he had to tell Mr Sandoval that you weren’t around because everyone else was afraid to talk.”

“Did anyone upset him?”. She looked concerned.

Gina shrugged. "Go quickly Ellie. He was really mad.” She hurried her along.

“Kay. Thanks." She rushed to the private elevator and called it but it didn’t come immediately. She tapped her feet impatiently as she waited then sighed in relief when it arrived and she jumped in.

She pressed the button for the thirtieth floor and prayed that the ride would be over quickly. She had to know why Cesar was upset so she could calm him down.

The doors opened and she flew out straight to Cesar’s office and barged in without knocking but he wasn’t anywhere in the office.

“Cesar?are you here?”. She called.

The door to his office bathroom opened and he came out. She was shocked to see him in jeans and a polo shirt which he never wore to work not even on Saturdays when he’d come into the office.

Cesar walked over to his desk, opened the top drawer and brought out some papers then he threw them at her feet.

Ellie was shocked by his behavior and stared at the papers on the floor then back up at his face. His face was stoic and his eyes were cold. He'd never looked at her that way, not even when he was extremely mad.

“What is this Cesar?”. She asked.

“Who is Miesa’s father Elyon?”. Cesar demanded calmly when he was anything but.

“This again Cesar?”. She asked.

He skirted the desk and stalked towards her angrily.

“Who is he Ellie?!”. He demanded harshly.

“I don’t know.” Ellie whispered softly.

“I remember everything now Ellie so don’t lie to me.” He growled threateningly.

“Remember what?”. She looked confused.

He went back to his desk, picked up a picture and passed it to her.

Ellie looked down at it and she paled. It was a picture of her and Cesar dancing at.. Catherine Waldorf’s masquerade ball party almost seven years ago.

“How did you..how did you get this?”. She asked breathlessly. "Did you…search my house?”.

“No I have no time for that. Not when I can hire a private investigator.” He snapped. "Answer my question Ellie.”

“I don’t know.” She answered.

“Don’t lie to me Ellie or I swear to God.." He let his voice trail off on purpose when he saw her flinch.

“I…he’s dead.”

“Liar!.” He roared at her. "You were a virgin that night we slept together so don’t feed me that bullshit!”.

“Yeah we slept together but that doesn’t mean I only slept with you!”. She fired back.

“So how do you explain why Miesa looks a lot like me?hmmn?”. He got in her face.

“I told you..God created..”

“Shut the fuck up!”. He ordered.

“Don’t yell at me!”.

“I’m gonna do whatever the hell I want with you, do you understand?!”.

Ellie glowered at him. “Have it your way then. I’m out of here.” She turned to leave.

“No you don’t get to walk out on me Ellie." He grabbed her wrist and tugged her back to him forcefully.

“Let go of me! Let go you bast…" She had more to say but Cesar didn’t let her say another word as he captured her lips with his roughly.

Ellie was angry that he was kissing her and she struggled against him trying to free herself but he didn’t let up instead he tightened his arm around her and tilted her head back allowing him complete access to her mouth.

Elyon angrily tore her mouth from his and with every strength she had, she pushed him and he stumbled back in surprise.

She glared venomously at him and let her hand fly. She was satisfied by the way the sound echoed in the room and the shocked look on his face. She'd bet he'd not expected her to slap him.

“I didn’t expect this from you.” She seethed, turned and flounced out of his office.

Cesar stared at the closed door for a minute before he followed after her but missed her just as the elevator doors closed in his face.

“Damn it!”. He hissed in frustration.
