Chapter 4

Ethan is a complicated figure, with a reputation for being reclusive and eccentric. He’s a brilliant businessman and visionary, but he’s also emotionally closed off and prone to sudden mood swings.

“Meeting starts in 30 minutes, get yourself filled up.” He said to his guards.

“Yes sir.” They responded and walked out of the room, one by one

Lena hands were already shaking, that she almost dropped the cup she was holding.

“I’m so sorry. My name is Lena. I’m just a journalist, and I’d really love to have an interview with you.” She said, amidst her shaky voice and hand.

“what made you think I have the time for that? Beside whatever you want to know about me is probably on the internet. “

He grabbed a cup his of coffee and began to sip.

“Not all. People have said so many things about you…”

Ethan cut in immediately, “Let me guess, I’m a bad person, huh”.

“Well, I don’t believe all of that. So I’m here to hear from you.” She stated, this time she wasn’t feeling nervous.

“First I must commend your bravery. To disguise as a cook just to get to me. That’s impressive. I guess next time, I may have to get body guards who are not just big but also smart.” He chuckled.

He took his first bite of the full chicken on the table, but couldn’t eat it because it was too spicy.

“Do you love your meat this hot , or do you want to burn my tongue?”

“Oh my God, I’m so sorry. I didn’t know you don’t like too much pepper. “ she apologized , with her face bowed.

“It’s okay. I guess the internet didn’t contain this part of me. Don’t forget to include it.” He laughed and pull the next meal on the table to himself.

“You don’t seem like what most people say about you though “ Lena said , as she brought out her pocket size notebook, for the interview.

“You never can tell. Perhaps you should be careful with me.”

“I was expecting a very arrogant person but you’re not.” She took a seat close to him.

“is that to get me to talk to you? I can see you are ready to pen down. But I’m sorry, I have to go now.” He pushed his seat backward, as he make his way to the bathroom to wash his hands.

“I don’t mind waiting for you.”

“That, I’m not sure of. Depending on my mood after the meeting. Beside, What do you think will happen if it is discovered that you are not from the kitchen?”

That brought back a little fear in her. She could be kicked out of the hotel, and that will definitely tarnish the image of the company she was representing. Ethan smiled when he saw the look of her face.

“Let’s go”

He walked her out of the room. They all entered the same elevator but she stopped on the third floor, while Ethan and his men continued to the to the lobby.

Lena returned to her room to get more prepared for the interview.

[ Phone ringing]

Lena brought out her phone from her bag to check who the caller was.

“Trina, not now.” She murmured before answering the call.

“Hi Lena, Where are you?”

“Hello Girl. I’m at work. I was given a first assignment, so I’m on it, right now.”

“is that why you haven’t called since three days now, and when I call, I’m sent to voice mail.” She sounded like she was upset.

“I’m so sorry Trina. It’s not what you think. You were right when you said my resting days are over. I haven’t had time for my self too. I just have to get this done.”

“uhmm, okay. What kind of task is that?”

“I promise to tell you everything when I’m back.”

“It’s alright. Let me know when you’re back.”

“ I will.”

Lena hung the call, and went to change her outfit into something more revealing and eye-catching. She wore a read sleeveless gown, that helped reveal her shape and her cleavage.

She left her room to wait at the reception area; somewhere close to where the meeting was taking place. Hours later, the meeting ended. She watched as those in attendant walked out of the hotel, one by one, leaving Ethan behind.

When he finally came out of the conference room, he went to sit at the bar to get himself some beer. Lena thought that would be an opportunity for her to meet him again.

“Hey, it’s me.” Lena said, waving to get his attention because his men won’t allow her through.

“Let her in.” he ordered his men, and they immediately made way for her go come through.

“I’m guessing it didn’t go as planned.”

“Well, sometimes business is like that.”

“Yeah, you’re right. But you shouldn’t beat yourself up for that.” Lena said, as she grabbed one the seat beside him.

“Now you sound like my mum.” He tried wearing a smile .

Ethan signaled the bartender to pour him more beer.

“We could talk about it, if you want”. She said, and brought out her notebook.

“I don’t usually tell my business to people, but for you, let’s see how it goes.

He took the bottle of betr from the bartender and poured for himself till his glass is filled to the brim.

“Do you want some? He asked.

“I’ll take water instead.” Lena replied

“C’mon, you should drink with me.” He insisted.

“Fine, just little.” Lena said with a smirk

She sipped little and pushed the cup away from her side.

“Shall we begin?” Lena asked

“Where do we start from?” Ethan seemed ready for her

“Your twin brother, what happened to him?”
