CHAPTER 2

Adahlia's POV:

When I got to the bank, I immediately went inside and logged in. I worked all afternoon until I got home. I hate being left here alone and working overtime. I'm still afraid to be alone because the surroundings are so quiet and scary.

"Hey Adahlia, seriously look there! Isn't Joseph flirting with you?" Mercedes called me.

"Yes why?" I asked and approached Mercedes.

"Oh, that's it, watch it! That shameless womanizer! I thought he was a good man!" Mercedes said with a frown.

She handed me her cellphone so I watched the video. My eyes widened because it was Joseph.

There was a woman in front of him who was twerking. The fool even paid the woman some cash before drinking alcohol. What a cheater!

Mercedes thought that Joseph was just flirting with me but we had been in a relationship for a month now. My family thought I was a “no boyfriend since birth” until now, but the reason I don’t tell them of my boyfriends because I always get cheated on! As for the mother, she’ve known of the last four times I was cheated onso I am ashamed to introduce a boy to my family. Nothing lasts long.

"He's a shameless man, he's not ashamed of himself anymore! He may be handsome, but he has bad breath! He always has pepper on his teeth. He doesn't even brush his teeth, but he has the guts to cheat!" I shouted in annoyance and almost threw Mercedes' cellphone.

"Hey, calm down. That's my cellphone and it's an iPhone 12 Max Pro!" Mercedes said to me so I handed her the phone.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I just got carried away," I said with a grimace.

I was devastated after watching the video. Joseph was my first kiss, then the crazy guy turned out to be a womanizer. I am no longer driven to choose the right man. Stupid cheaters.

"Yow wazzup! Did you hear?" Louise shouted as she left the bank.

Louise is my best friend who is a gossip. Sometimes it also slips into secrets. That's why we get along before because she was my source of gossip while I was the one who chainmailed our bank tellers.

"I'm really here, Louise. We all know about Joseph," I said with a sigh.

I can see the sadness in Louise's eyes. Even though we both goof around sometimes, we still get hurt when we have a serious conversation. She knows how happy I am with Joseph but here he is now and his video is still scattered on F******k.

"I'm sorry, Adahlia. It's been said and we should follow Joseph. That pepper eater is a fraud," Louise said.

"Pepper eater?" I wondered.

"Eats pepper. That animal always has pepper in his teeth," Louise answered, making me shake my head.

Louise and I spoke clearly for a moment. She told the whole gossip about Joseph. It is said that someone also leaked the video just now of them kissing in a bar. Joseph is rich and a millionaire so he is a famous person.

"You know, we'll just drink that pain away. Come with us and let's go to a bar! What do you say, girls?" Louise said and turned to Mercedes.

"Right, let's go! We just got paid last week!" Kris shouted.

"Yes, come on, I'm going with you now. I'm going to drink there. Let’s forget that stupid asshole!" I shoutedand my friends cheered.

We rode a tricycle to go to an expensive bar. I just held my breath when we stopped at a boutique clothing store. I thought it was in the boutique, but it's actually in the mall. Expendables.

Here I am again, I am no longer attracted to those men. We will go back to the bar and party until the morning. I’ll buy a sexy dress and be beautiful tonight! Just a little bit of alcohol won’t hurt.

"What the hell? Adahlia, you look expensive," Louise whispered seductively.

"Yes, let's spend," I said softly.

"Yes, Madam Cheapskate will spend!" Louise said happily, making our friends laugh.

We're here outside the bar and I'm nervous again. Calm down Adahlia, you're old now. You can handle yourself and you are not a child anymore. I'm always a loser in love, am I still a loser even with alcohol!? That is a big no.

We sat in a place where there were two couches facing each other. We were all wearing party dresses that we bought at the mall earlier, they really didn't want to lose without changing the full outfit.

I bought a fitted deep v-neck red dress that was still 50 percent off. Fortunately, it is cheap even though the quality is good. It was good to be alone and I was ahead of Louise. For 600 pesos, I was able to buy a dress and high heels that my friend had bought earlier. I found a fake YSL for only 150 when we passed by earlier.

"Great Adahlia, your brunette beauty is really different! There are a lot of boys looking at you. Look over there in front of us, there are people looking at you who look rich and handsome. Wave back!" Mercedes said and waved to the other table.

"Yes, chill first. Don't stress about your stupid ex," Louise said and waved at her.

I turned to that table and that's when my jaw dropped. I think these are gods, not humans! Jaw-dropping beauty! But I don't like handsome people anymore, they are always cheaters. Handsome, ugly, every man cheats nowadays!

I waved at their table, so the men snorted and yelled at the one in the middle who was serious. He looked like a sculpture because of the extreme perfection. He looks like Zayn Malik of One Direction. That band used to be my favorite when I was young.

When he grinned, my world stopped for a moment. That man has such good looks. I was shocked that myjaw really dropped. Oh my, this is embarrassing!
