VICTORIA
"What!!!" I exclaimed, wide-eyed and my mouth hung open.
"Coma?! For two years?! How the hell?!" I deepened the lines in my forehead as disarray took over my mind.
How is that possible? Does it have a connection with my fall from the cliff??
"Please grandma, say something! I'm still as confused as ever!" I huffed.
"It was an attempted murder on your life. Your fall from the cliff was carefully planned out and executed by an unknown person. I found you by the cliff and brought you here to my village. So many things happened while you're in coma, my dear," Grandma informed and her bright mood suddenly turned bitterly sour.
I wondered what happened while I was away and who actually attempted to murder me. The thoughts gave me a skull-splitting headache as I made my way back to the bed and sat on it.
Grandma also sat on the bed close to me and held my hands.
"I'm sorry Victoria, your mother is dead. She couldn't bear the pain of you getting disowned by your father so she committed suicide."
"No!" I exclaimed, throwing my hands off hers.
‘What is she saying? There's no way that can ever happen.’
I waited for her to just smile and say everything's a joke but none of that happened as she continued crying.
"My mother's not dead! She can't be!" I yelled and fought back the tears in my eyes but they managed to find their way out.
"I'm so sorry, Victoria," she sniffed and pulled me into a tight hug.
After a few minutes of letting out my tears on her shoulder, I first pulled away. "What about my little sister?" I inquired with fear of the unknown.
"Calm down, Josephine is alright. Infact I have good news for you; Josephine found her mate and is living happily with him now."
That little info gave me a moment of peace and relief in my heart. At least my sister's living happily with her mate; away from that monster I call a father.
I'm a hundred percent sure that the mate in question fit into dad's criteria else he would have forced her to reject him.
Now the only thing that bothers me was the fact that someone tried to take my life with that rope. Who could it have been?
I remember seeing a silhouette of a hooded man leaning against one of the trees, his face wasn't clear cos of the hoodie but I guess his height should be no less than 6'3. Who was that?
"What secret do you know about Alpha Mike?" Grandma asked, shaking me out of my thoughts as we moved out of her little cottage to see the bright sunlight outside.
"Huh?" I frowned, halting abruptly.
"Answer me," she prod further, also stopping to face me.
That question was definitely least expected from the thousands of questions I felt she would ask me. Why is she even asking me that? And her tone was also really cold.
"He ordered the assassin to murder you. Your existence almost came to an end because of a certain secret you knew about him," she revealed all of a sudden, the expression on her face turning to anger.
"What!" I gasped with a flustered look. Even though I expected the perpetrator to be him, I gave myself a thousand and one reasons why it can't be him so this is coming as a shock to me.
I had to wonder; did he ever even love me? Or was I the only one immersed in my infatuation for him?
And what secret is it that would make him kill me? I couldn't even place my mind on anything cos the only swirling in my memory is REVENGE.
Yeah, I guess that's all that's left within me. That deep, burning thirst for revenge.
Wait a minute...
I remember the secret now. There was a day Mike drank a lot and became uncontrollably drunk. He mistakenly spilled that he was an illegitimate child of his father, only him and his mother knew about it. If his dad finds out, he will be thrown out of the pack and turn to a slave or a lone wolf, he can be killed also.
Maybe he thought that I would be as viciously inconsiderate as he is and tell on him to his father since we broke up. I probably meant nothing to him from the beginning anyway.
"No wonder he wanted to kill you, I knew it was something big," Grandma sighed.
Now the fool thinks I'm dead and decayed and is living happily with his wedded wife as Alpha and Luna while I'm here wallowing in misery and not being able to meet my family.
"I want revenge, Grandma," I declared with resolution.
I might be easy and weak but there are just some things I can't tolerate.
-;Betrayal on the day of my wedding.
-;The death of the only thing that gave me strength to go on, My innocent, unborn baby.
-;The restriction of everyone from having contact with me.
-;The demise of my mother, who was my true best friend that always listened to my fears and pains.
-; And then, the greatest of all, the attempt on MY LIFE.
Each and everything listed is connected to just three people, Mike, Tiffany and my father, Ralph Luza.
"Tch..." I scoffed. They have all seen my weaknesses and gullibility, now they will see the real beast, VICTORIA in me.
"I support you," Grandma said and held my hands.
"I support you too!" Rina also squealed from within me.
I stood up and strolled into the woods as everywhere was dark and stars were glittering from the sky.
I stopped immediately as I sensed someone following me, like I am being watched, hope it's not what I'm thinking.
VICTORIA"Flip the BBQ over!" Grandma yelled at me.It was already evening and we are out here, barbecuing meat on a grill. This was one thing I loved about visiting my grandma; I always got the chance to explore her wide garden filled with berries and cherries, and enjoy the savory taste of her home-made evening barbecue. I went to do as she said and returned back to continue listening to her tales about Lycans as I don't really know much about Lycans cause they seem far-fetched to me and are few."And then, there's the Alpha of Solitaire Mystic pack," she announced, shifting from the scary story of Lycans."What about him?" I asked; we laid on the soft grass and gazed at the huge mountain from faraway that overlooked Grandma's old cottage house. "The pack was once situated in this village hundreds of years back but now, the leading pack Alpha, Alpha Brendon has spread the pack throughout the city of Los Angeles." She sighed as she spoke."Yeah I've heard about him grandma. During
=====================BRENDON“What?! They escaped?!” I roared in fury, my fingers turning into black claws. “We couldn't do anything Alpha, the plan was too meticulous," the fretting scout in front of me apologized.I slammed my fists into the wall, my eyes turning to a darker shade of red and my body trembling with a murderous intent."What direction are they heading?" I managed to ask through gritted teeth and clenched jaws."They're heading Eastward," the scout replied, bowing his head.I raised my head up and ordered, "gather our men, we are finding them tonight!"That being said, I stormed out of the building. It was full moon and I could hear howling of wolves from far and near. The whole army arrived and shape-shifted into wolves.I stood tall and imposing in front of the army, my piercing gaze sweeping over each of them in turn."We have no reason not to find them tonight," I growled, my bloodshot eyes flashing with fury.I paused for a moment, letting the weight of my word
VICTORIABefore I knew it, he threw a punch at me, and, unfortunately, the punch landed on my nose. "Arrghhhh," I groaned as I felt immense pain.Instead of showing concern, he just ignored me and scoffed. "Let's do this," I said, frowning, my face now becoming serious as he threw a punch at me. His hands alone were so heavy that he might overpower me, but I breathed in and twisted his arm like he said. "Nice one. Let's do this three more times," Brendon said as I sighed. After we did it about three times, I was already exhausted, but I was interested in learning more."Anytime you twist an enemy's arm the way I just taught you, don't just wait until he strikes back. Release a punch or hit his arm to save yourself some time," Brendon explained more, but I didn't understand what he just said. He turned to the training ground and called one of his warriors. "Raymond, come here for a minute," Alpha Brendon called, and he rushed here. "I need to show her something," he said as he thre
"Surprised? But are you sure she's safe now, Brendon?" He muttered as he laughed like a devil, trying to get the upper hand.Ifelt a cold rage build inside me, and I turned back to face him. For the first time in my life, I felt nervous. I could feel my wolf stirring, demanding to be let out to attack Arturo. How the hell did he find out she's my Luna? I didn't tell anyone about this. Even John didn't know until today."You have no idea what you've just done, you just made a grave mistake, Arturo. You don't want to mess with me or my Luna. I'll make sure you regret this," I said, my eyes blazing with fury, my teeth grounding hard against each other. My hands clenched into fists at my sides, and my eyes burned with fury. I took a step closer to him, towering over him as I continued."You touch a single hair on her head, and I'll make you regret it for the rest of your miserable life."Arturo chuckled, unfazed by my threats. "Oh, Alpha," he said, leaning back in his seat. "You alwa
BRENDON Immediately after I left, an image of what I did flashed in my head. Back in the villa, when I stood up to confront him, I stealthily planted an audio recorder beneath the table where Arturo was sitting. I couldn't stand by and watch him make fun of me. I listened to the recording through the airpod in my ear, and found out where Arturo's brother was going. I signaled my men, Kale, Zik, Harris, and Bena, about the development. When we got in the car, we tracked him down and caught him. "Get out! How dare you! You don't know who I am!" he roared in anger, struggling hard as we threw him into the trunk. "Take him to the basement. You know where. Then wait for me," I ordered the boys."But, alpha, how will you get home? You can't just walk, and it's dangerous," Kale said, sounding concerned. I smiled and shook my head. "Don't worry. Beta John will come and pick me up. You just make sure he doesn't escape, and be careful. You know how sneaky he is." Kale nodded his head, g
VICTORIALike, really? This was my first time torturing someone like me. It was uncalled for. Deep down, I don't like it. I know he deserves more than death, but jeez, I don't have the courage for it. I hesitated when he asked me to stab his leg, My hands trembling as I held the knife, but I brushed aside the thought that it was evil and did it.Suddenly, John appeared out of nowhere. I never expected him to be here, and he looks so excited."John, show him the perfect gift I prepared for him," Alpha Brendon said with a cold smile. I was curious what the surprise gift was.I watched as John connected the laptop and opened a video of a lady and a child. Three soldiers pointed guns at them, and they froze in fear. And behold, the lady was someone I never expected to see. My heart sank when I saw her face clearly; it was my sister Josephine. How could this be? Josephine, my sister? Oh no! This isn't what I bargained for. How is this possible? My sister Josephine is now between life an
"No!" Hardin and I screamed together as Brendon looked at my anxious face. He was stunned by what he had just heard, but I ignored him. Even Hardin had not expected me to scream with him. He looked at me from head to toe with a confused expression."Please don't touch them. I will tell you where all your documents are, but first tell your hungry, bloodthirsty men to take their guns away from their faces," Hardin pleaded. Brendon scoffed and signaled to John, who then informed his men to drop their guns."See? Now speak, and don't dare make a smart move," Brendon ordered in a cold voice as he cleared his throat. I gasped."Code 1256 is in Arturo's safe. Check there to see all your documents that are kept there. Now, can you tell your men to get the hell out of my house?" He said angrily."How can I be so sure of that, Hardin? I have trust issues," Brendon said."I'm fucking serious!!!" Hardin yelled loudly as Brendon smiled and signaled to his favorite and smart beta, John, to go get i
We have been waiting for John for almost three hours now, but he still hasn't arrived. Time was passing by quickly, and I was becoming increasingly nervous. I am still in shock and have not been able to recover yet.I noticed Brendon staring at me, and it seemed like he had been doing so for a while. His gaze was intense, and it made me uncomfortable. I know lots of questions are running through his mind as to how I knew Hardin's wife, Josephine, and his kid. But I was not sure whether now was the time to say anything cos of how tense the atmosphere seemed. So, I looked away because looking directly into his eyes only made me more anxious. As I watched the video of my sister crying on her knees, I felt a deep pang of sadness hit me. Her husband was also watching her on the laptop, and it was clear that he cared for her deeply. However, I couldn't help but wonder what kind of partner he was to put her through such hardship.I always wished for my sister, Josephine, to lead a life
