A promise Broken

"This can't be happening. Am I dreaming?" I muttered under my breath, trying to make sense of what was unfolding before me.

Out of nowhere, my sister Josephine threw a handful of sand at my face and took off running into the nearby woods. The shock of the attack left me weak and I stumbled, falling to the ground as I tried to clear the sand from my eyes.

"Josephine?" I screamed as I let out a cry of despair. This wasn't the life I wanted for her. How had she become an assassin? She was supposed to be in Germany with her abusive husband, and I had promised to save her before I was forced to flee to New York. Why was life so unfair to us?

As I watched Josephine's swift movements, I couldn't help but notice how she moved with the precision of a trained killer. Who had turned her into this? What was their endgame? I shuddered at the thought.
