“Michael…Michael where are you? Where am I? What is this place?” I slowly get up off the hard ground. I waver as I gather my footing. The ground beneath my feet is smooth and cold. I turn in a full circle and see nothing but darkness. “Mother, Father?” I scream into the endless void. My pleas go unanswered, I’m here alone. Where are my guardians? I sit once again in silence, I begin to hear a hum in the distance. I look up and stare straight ahead as a faint light no bigger than pin prick, which quickly began to multiply in every direction. Until the once dark prison was full of bright light that quickly surrounded me. It was all the power I had released being reabsorbed into my body. My flesh glowing and warmth invaded my soul. I could now feel the missing pieces of soul reuniting feeling whole again. Before I could relish in feeling one again, I felt an odd sensation in my center like a hot poker burning me from the inside out. I scream and claw at my middle; the pain only intensifies. With her hands on her lips she gives me a look that says she doesn;t believe me. “Off with ya, your father and mother are expecting visitors this eve for dinner. You miss need to get ready for it.” I stand up and dust the dirt from my skirts and comb my fingers through my hair picking out the grass that was caught in it. “Do you know who is coming?” She softens her face and looks at me sympathetically, “Aye miss I do, when we arrive at the manor you are to get changed in one of your finer dresses. Your father has arranged a suitor for ye the Marquess.” She says with pride. “Now let's be off.” She reaches for my hand and drags in the direction of the manor. “I see you have been rolling around in the grass again Rayne.” My mother sucked in her teeth and gave a scathing look to my nurse. “Ma’am I apologize, miss wanted to pick some of the more difficult herbs and tripped on her skirts…” My nurse tried to explain before my mother cut her off, “I don’t care what excuses you have for being late and she is supposed to be ready already. You know what today means if the marquess is fancied enough a marriage offer will be extended, which means a higher station for us.Put on her best dress and make haste.” My mother ordered both me and my nurse. “Not to worry, miss, many men fancy you. From what I hear from the servants that accompany your mother on her errands, your father has turned down many requests for your hand in marriage now that you're of age.” My nurse said to try to lift my spirits. My father paid no attention to the rake of man standing next to him. A servant announces that dinner was ready. “We should be seated, please follow me please.” My mother says, Marquess Browne offers his arm to me and I reluctantly take it as we begin to follow my parents to the dining hall. “You look lovely tonight my dear,” he says to me. We watched as they all created life only creatures your imagination can make or hasn’t had the opportunity to make up yet. Your species would call them aliens, they came in all different shapes and sizes some with large heads and some that looked similar to us but off. Does that make sense?
