Permanent Loss

I spent the night without closing my eyes, watching over Corry, as she laid on the hospital bed, not talking. Her eyes were moving under her eyelids like when you’re dreaming, but she couldn’t move a muscle.

I took my phone and read her a book. After a few minutes, her eyes stopped moving. I realized that she might be sleeping, so I stopped reading and laid down on the couch inside her bedroom.  Before sleeping, I called Taylor. She told me that everything was okay, that she was coming to the hospital the next day. I also called my Parents (not the adopted ones) and it seemed like they did not have any idea of what was going on in the hospital. My mother told me that she was going to come to the hospital with Dina the day after.
