My head was pounding and my vision was getting blurry.

The X mark my very own father carved in to the side of my stomach was burning. The second he'd pushed the blade against the side of my baby bump, I'd screamed bloody murder, begging him to stop.

With what Haden did to Selin, I knew he would do it to me too.

His mad laughter continued as he drew the X, saying that would be the spot he'll start at when he finally cuts my baby out of me.

What a horrible and terrifying thing to hear?

Everything still felt like one horrible dream. One second, Raphael was walking out of our room to get me my sandwiches. The next second, Luca was barging through the door.

I didn't have enough time or speed to react when he marched over to the bed and slammed a lamp on my head.

I was too busy maneuvering my body and trying to move away from him with my large belly dragging me back when he'd launched himself at me.
