Tyler and I met that afternoon. We exchanged numbers and agreed on tutoring sessions twice a week. Once that was done, Tyler and I headed out and began to spar playfully.
Neither he nor I were serious about this spar in particular. We were just allowing some excess energy out.
We were still at it when the smell of blood reached my nostrils. My eyes widened at once, and that moment of distraction earned me a blow. I fell to the ground unceremoniously.
“Are you okay, Jade?” He asked as he extended a hand out for me.
“I am but someone’s obviously not,” I told him, my eyes still wide as I rose to my feet in haste.
“What?” He frowned slightly.
“I smell blood,” I told him before bolting in the direction of the smell that had me so distracted.
Since I was so slender and so petite, I could be a fast runner. Tyler followed after me without hesitating but I was a few steps ahead of him.
I was the first to come across the clearing where Eli, the late gamma’s son, the same boy who had earlier taunted me and – dare I say it? – tried to bully me on my very first day at school, was hunched over in pain, and blood was smearing his lips. There were three devilish men standing nearby, looking like they could care less about what was happening, despite being no doubt the cause for it.
They focused their eyes on me and I was almost startled back by the color.
Red.
Vampires, I told myself, aghast.
I had fought rogues before but had never crossed paths with vampires. They were said to have vicious ways, and I was about to find out for myself, it seemed.
One of them smirked at me, and I readied myself for the attack. No amount of mental preparation would have enabled me to guess how quick he was. Nevertheless, I managed to dodge his blow, almost reflexively.
Tyler who had just reached the clearing growled and turned into his wolf form.
Eli shook his head negatively and told us but one hoarse word, “Run.”
That had the knack to break me out of fear. My opponent barely even allowed me the time to breathe. His attacks were relentless, calculated, somehow controlled, but no doubt destructive should they land.
“Where’s your proud alpha, huh?” One of them taunted, his emphasis on the word alpha quite strong. “Alexander Bad is his name, isn’t it?”
The airs on the back of my neck rose to attention, not quite liking the blatant disrespect to my alpha.
“He has better things to do than to take care of the likes of you,” I told him acidly.
And for the first time since I stepped into the clearing, I managed to land a blow on my opponent, almost as if proving my point.
“Do you have any idea who you’re dealing with, little girl?” The man I had been fighting popped his dislocated shoulder back into place without allowing a sound out.
“I’m no little girl,” I told him haughtily as I stood my ground, and looked at him with challenging eyes. “The name’s Jade Falls.”
“Foolish,” he muttered mockingly.
“Indeed, you are,” a voice almost unrecognizable with bloodlust reached us before we even saw the alpha.
Tyler must have been distracted by his arrival for he took a harsh blow that sent him flying back, right into the trunk of a tree.
I felt ire like never before. The first peer who had acknowledged me properly, and welcomed me into the pack, laid on the grass, naked, hurting, and grunting.
I felt compelled to go to him, and thus completely dismissed my opponent, allowing my alpha to take care of the matter. I rushed to Tyler’s side, and unbothered by his state of undress, I touched his shoulder once I crouched down.
My heart felt for him, and I could almost picture the broken bones and the punctured flesh.
I then touched his abdomen and he grunted even louder. He opened his eyes and looked at me in wonder.
I looked down at him and saw that my hands had a green-ish aura to them.
Oh how I wished I knew what was happening. Oh how I wished I could stop whatever it was too.
But I was in a trance, too far gone to stop.
Tyler had stopped grunting after a moment, and I retracted my hands, almost as if the very touch burnt.
I looked up and saw the shock written on my alpha’s face.
I too was shocked. This exhilarating feeling of power was so foreign, it made me tremble.
A fallen vampire rose to his feet again, and I pointed at him in worry, saw the alpha take care of him deftly and promptly… and then, everything went black before my eyes.
.. .. .. .. ..
Soon enough, I came to, and found myself in the alpha’s arms.
He was carrying me, bridal style, with utmost care, almost as if he was afraid to break little fragile me.
He looked down at me and smiled, “Glad to have you back among us, Jade.”
I tried hard to keep the blush from my face as I said in a feeble protest, “I can walk.”
“I’m not sure you can. You fainted back there.”
“I’m sorry?” I let out a sigh as memories rushed back to me.
“Don’t be,” he told me in a tone so caring, I could have melted.
Be still, my heart, I told myself.
“What happened?” I then asked in a perplexed tone.
“You saved me,” Tyler said from where he walked a few steps behind the alpha.
“You’re healed, Tyler!” I almost shrieked as I made to sit up straighter.
“No shit sherlock,” he chuckled.
“Stop moving around, Jade, lest you want me to drop you,” the alpha’s hold on me grew slightly tighter.
“I can walk,” I told him sheepishly again.
“Says the girl who fainted,” Eli let out in a tone that was hard to decipher.
“I’m not sure whether you’re worried about me or angry at me,” I let out pensively.
He blushed and averted his face, whereas the alpha chuckled and said, “Probably both.”
A few more strides, and I asked the question that burnt my lips, while looking at the alpha as if he held all the answers, “What am I?”
“A born healer,” the alpha said without preamble, his voice soft, his eyes hard.
A born healer, huh? What do you think is going to happen? ^^
We arrived at the pack house, with the alpha still holding me up bridal style, and that definitely attracted stares. I blushed while Alexander kept on walking nonchalantly, like the pure alpha man he was.I wished they’d stop staring… but then again, why wouldn’t they?I was but the new addition to the pack, and he was alpha Alexander Bad. He had a reputation to uphold. That of a ruthless heartthrob among many.I didn’t even qualify to apply for the role of a plaything… and yet, I was in his arms. It was hard to remain impassible while the man I had a crush on held me with utmost care. The beta, whose name was Luc, and whose demeanor was that of a goofball most of the time, waited for us at the threshold, with a pout on his face that made him look younger than he actually was.“Why the face?” The alpha asked him in a joking tone.“I wanted to take care of those leeches myself,” he said petulantly.“I am quicker and more efficient than you,” was the response he received. The exchange w
To say it was hell wouldn’t cover the half of what became of my life.Dad, mom, beta Luc, and even alpha Alexander were now taking turns to ensure I had eyes on me at all time. I stayed in the packhouse where I studied for my final year of high school. I secretly wished for a taste of normal life, and I got some of it, thanks to Tyler’s tutoring sessions.Tyler was shy despite being a warrior, but I somehow managed to get him out of his shell. We were in the spacious living room, seated at the large table, studying diligently, when Eli stopped next to the table.“There’s a bonfire tonight,” he announced in an excited tone, “Care to join us, Jade?”Yes, surprisingly, Eli and I had become friends over the course of the past two weeks.“Who’s us?” I asked with a raised eyebrow.“Us as in the entire school,” he deadpanned.“I’d love to but I’m not sure I can,” I let out on a sigh of dismay, while shooting a pointed look at Alexander’s office door.“Ask the alpha for a special permission o
“How did it go?” Eli asked me the moment I went back to where Tyler was seated.I had to fight back a blush as I said, “I’m going to the bonfire.”“Great,” he flashed me a dazzling smile which did nothing to my butterflies, contrarily to Alex’s scarce smiles.I chose not to say that I’d be going to the bonfire with the alpha. That would be awkward. Besides, it was complicated enough trying to figure out the man’s motives for what had transpired. Was I the new flavor of the month? Was I to be his new plaything? If I were to be honest with myself, I didn’t care, as long as I could call him mine for some time.It wasn’t long before I was back to my room. I showered and then chose to put on a black tank top with denim shorts. I kept my make-up simple with only lip gloss and eyeliner.I was about to head out to the alpha’s office when there was a knock on the door.He stood there, in all his regal beauty, looking every bit the dominant alpha he was.“I see you are not ready,” he commented
Jade kept challenging me and pushing all my buttons ever since I decided to have a word with her. I had just wanted to know why she was avoiding me but her answer made me see red. It took me several seconds, and a lot of willpower, to let her go back out there without marking her as mine for all to see.I wanted her to bear my mark, to bear my pups too, but it sure seemed like a far away dream at the moment. And then, when I went to get her from her room, I saw red a second time. Her shorts were the definition of outrageous. Her tanned legs on display didn’t help me keep a clear mind. Admittedly, her scent alone drove me crazy at times, especially since it was often laced with the smell of her arousal.I had to fight back every instinct that told me to just throw her on her bed and have my wicked way with her. Had I had better control, I would have given in, but as it was, I knew I might go too far and push her away from me.And then, she had the nerve to put that ridiculous red dress
After agreeing to the alpha’s demand – to not touch myself – I jumped to my feet, and groaned as I felt my juices flow now that I was standing up. The effect the alpha had on me should be illegal. The way his eyes darkened immediately made me realize it wasn’t one-sided at least. “See you tomorrow, Jade,” he said in a soft tone. “Bye,” I squeaked out, embarrassed now that I wasn’t on his lap. I was on my way to my room when I bumped into the alpha’s stalker – the leggy blonde. “You,” she spat out in a disdain filled tone. “Who do you think you are exactly to stick to the alpha’s side like that?” I had no response to offer but didn’t miss the occasion to roll my eyes at her. I was about to sidestep her when she blocked my path. “I asked you a question, you sorry excuse of a werewolf,” she snarled. “The alpha is in his office right now,” I deadpanned. “Feel free to ask him why he’d rather spend time with me.” And with that, I pushed her out of the way and carried on ascending t
After an earth-shattering orgasm, which made me whimper my alpha’s name as he lapped up my juices, I realized the enormity of what had happened and closed my eyes in mortification. “What are you blushing for now?” He had the nerve to chuckle at my expense. “I can’t believe you… we…” I was at a loss for words. “You taste absurdly sweet,” he told me with absolutely zero regards to my flustered state, his eyes glinting with mischief and lust as he looked at me. He was the alpha and I was his plaything. He had every right to torment as he saw fit. He flicked my clit for what I hoped would be the last time, making me buck my hips. “So sensitive,” he muttered darkly. And then as if he couldn’t help himself, he plunged two fingers in my heat, and all my protests evaded me. I whimpered, seeing as he didn’t move them. “Tell me what you want,” he murmured darkly. I moved against his fingers wantonly, chasing my third orgasm. He removed his fingers abruptly, making me whine in a dejected
I was almost halfway through the thin diary when there was a knock on my bedroom door. I closed the precious diary, put it on the side, out of sight, and then went to get the door.“You didn’t come back,” Eli said accusingly, his eyes slightly narrowed at me in mock anger.“I figured since I missed a big chunk of the movie, it wouldn’t make sense anymore,” I told him with a shrug.“Jade, I’m going to say this with your best interests in mind,” he began almost hesitantly. And Eli wasn’t one to hesitate usually. “Don’t get attached to the alpha.”I was slightly taken aback at that statement of his. Was I that obvious? Did he catch us in the act?“He’s the alpha,” I told him dismissively. “I’m just…”I trailed off, at a loss for words. I knew that saying I was the plaything of the month wouldn’t sit well with him. But I preferred knowing where I stood. I wasn’t anyone special to the alpha, no matter if I started developing feelings for him or not.“I just don’t want to see you hurt,” he
My hand gripped the towel anxiously as Alex took another step forward, and I took another one back, only to hit the wall. He closed the distance between us, and I – lo and behold – whimpered. “I’d never hurt you, love,” he said gruffly, his eyes taking me in hungrily before settling on my face again. “I just want to make a few things clear.” I nodded, wondering why he had to get into my personal space to talk, but loving the way he invaded it nonetheless. I gulped down my dread and looked him in the eyes, as if to urge the man to go on and be done already. With the knuckles of his right hand, he caressed my cheek. I drew in a sharp breath. “I’ll be straightforward, Jade. I hate seeing you around Eli and Tyler, acting so cozy, so casual.” “They’re my friends,” I told him in a tone that didn’t come out as firm as I would have wanted it. “They’re horny unmated wolves,” he countered immediately. I wanted to tell him that he, too, was a horny unmated wolf, but didn’t dare to point o
