Klaus POV

Later that night, I laid down on what was supposed to be a bed with my hands under my head and one leg crossed over the other. The cell was too small and had a round window that showed nothing but the dark sky outside over the bed. It had a stuffy smell. No one would ever believe that this place was actually in the luxurious royal palace. I was blocked from everything and everyone. I yearned for Aria’ presence, mind, touch, lips and body. Suddenly I heard the lock on the door rattle and it opened. King Henry walked in and ordered the guards to leave us alone.

I closed my eyes for a moment thinking that he was more of a torture to me than prison. He stood in front of me waiting for me to stand up but I didn’t. Before, I used to respect him because he didn’t know that I knew the truth. Now, we both knew the truth so there was no need for pretense anymore.

“Klaus” he called out and I slightly turned my head his way without saying anything. I could see clearly that he was nervo
