Chapter 10

Arabella's POV

The sound of Alpha Nick's threatening voice sent a chill down my spine, causing my heart to pound even harder against my ribcage.

Fear gripped my entire being as I considered the aftereffects of his words.

I quickly got off the bed and moved towards the door, thinking of eavesdropping on his conversation so I'd know if I should escape and how.

However, before I could even reach the doorknob, I heard a knock and I froze, not knowing who was there. Deciding to remain mute, I waited hoping the person at the door would say his name.

Luckily, the sound of a familiar male voice came through and I opened the door for Gary to come in. The door swung open, revealing Gary's tall and imposing figure standing in the doorway.

"Arabella, we need to talk," Gary said with urgency, his voice laced with concern and he walked in, closing the door behind him. "There's a man outside. His name is Alpha Nick. I heard what he said, and I know he's looking for you. Why? If the Alpha should fi
