3. A Plan Gone Wrong.

CHLOE.

A few minutes later...

I will show Jess why I'm the princess who always got what she wanted!

I gripped the steering wheel of my car tightly as I drove to the dark woods. I had changed into a black truck suit after the altercation. I had a mission to accomplish, and I was not going to let anything stop me. I was going to make Jess pay for what she did to me.

Like, what gave her the audacity to steal my boyfriend from me and lie that they were fated?

My mind reeled back to how humiliated I felt when Jake walked away from me as if I meant nothing… Jess had to die because she caused all this by messing with his mind. I always considered my poor Jakie to be gullible.

Jess had to pay for interfering with my perfect relationship.

But I knew I couldn't do it alone because I was weak and vulnerable. I had to find a group of rogues who lived in the woods, away from the laws and rules of the packs. They were outcasts, criminals, and killers who worked for money. They were perfect for my plan.

I stepped on the gas to accelerate the car. Soon enough I arrived at my eerie destination.

Here goes nothing...

With a sigh, I parked my car near the entrance of the woods and got out. I grabbed a backpack I had filled with Daddy's money before I left the crowded mansion from the passenger seat and slung it over my shoulder.

It contained the payment for the rogues. I hoped it would be enough to persuade them to do my bidding. I walked into the woods, following a trail that led to their camp. I had done my research, and I knew where to find them.

I reached their camp after half an hour of walking. It was a collection of tents, cabins, and vehicles, surrounded by a fence of barbed wire and metal scraps. I saw several rogues patrolling the area, armed with guns and knives. They looked at me with curiosity and suspicion as I approached the gate. I stopped and waited for them to challenge me.

"Who are you and what do you want?" one of them asked, pointing his gun at me.

I swallowed nervously, "I'm here to see your leader," I said calmly. "I have a proposition for him."

"What kind of proposition?" another one asked, eyeing my backpack.

"That's between me and him," I said. "Let me in, or I'll leave and find someone else who can do the job."

They looked at each other, unsure of what to do. They probably didn't get many visitors, especially not a girl like me. I looked innocent and harmless, but I was anything but. I was a snake in sheep's clothing, and I was ready to strike.

They decided to let me in, after searching me and my backpack. They escorted me to the largest cabin in the camp, where their leader was waiting for me. He was a dark tall and muscular man, with long black hair and a scarred face. He wore a leather jacket and jeans and had a cigar in his mouth. He looked like a typical rogue, but I could sense a hint of intelligence and charisma in his eyes. He was not a fool, and neither was I.

He gestured for me to sit on a couch across from him, while his men stood behind him. He took a puff of his cigar and blew out a cloud of smoke.

"So, Princess Chloe, what brings you to my humble abode?" he asked, with a mocking tone.

I froze momentarily as I didn't know that I was famous around these areas.

"I need your help," I said, without hesitation.

"Help with what?" he asked.

"I need you to kill someone for me," I replied.

He raised his eyebrows and smiled. "Who do you want me to kill?"

"Her name is Jess. She's a member of my pack. She's my frenemy, and she stole my boyfriend from me. I want her dead."

He chuckled and shook his head. "You want me to kill your fellow wolf, just because of some petty high school drama? That's a bit extreme, don't you think?"

"No, I don't think so. She deserves to die, and I'm willing to pay you well for it."

I opened my backpack and showed him the contents. His eyes widened as he saw the cash. He licked his lips and nodded. I knew money could persuade him.

"That's a lot of money, princess. But killing a wolf in your territory is not easy with all the warriors patrolling the place. How do you expect me to do it?"

"I have a plan," I said confidently. "I will sneak you in where she lives and I'll lure her out of her house, and you'll ambush her with your men. You'll make it quick and clean, and then you'll dispose of the body. No one will ever know what happened to her."

He stroked his beard and thought for a moment. He looked at me and smiled.

"Alright, princess, you have a deal. I'll do it for you, but I have one condition."

"What is it?" I asked.

"You have to come with me. You have to watch as I kill her. You have to see the life drain from her eyes. You have to hear her scream and beg for mercy. You have to witness the consequences of your actions. Do you agree?"

I felt a surge of fear and excitement in my chest. I knew he was testing me, trying to see if I had the guts to go through with it. I looked him in the eye and nodded.

"I agree. I'll come with you. Hell, I'll kill her myself if I have to... I don't care. I just want her dead."

He grinned and clapped his hands. "Excellent. Then let's go. We don't have much time to waste."

He got up and grabbed his jacket. He signaled two of his men to follow him. He took my backpack and handed it to one of them.

He walked out of the cabin and headed to his car. I followed him, feeling a mix of emotions. I was nervous, but I was also determined. I was going to get my sweet revenge, and I was going to enjoy it.

We drove to the pack, where Jess lived. It was nighttime, and the streets were dark and quiet. I told him the address of her house, and he parked his car a few blocks away. He took one of his men with him and left the one in the car.

He gave me a silver bullet gun and a silver knife and told me to stay close to him. We walked to her house, and I saw a light on in her bedroom window. She was home, and she was alone. Perfect.

I knocked on her door and waited for her to answer. She opened the door and scoffed when she saw me. She was dressed in her purple nightie.

"Chloe? What are you doing here?" she asked, haughtily while rolling her eyes and crossing her arms on her chest.

"Hi, Jess. Can we talk?" I asked, sweetly.

"Talk? About what?" she sneered.

"About Jake. You know, the guy you stole from me. Can we talk about him?"

She swallowed hard and shook her head. "Chloe, like Jake said, we are fated by the moon goddess and there is nothing we can do about… The best I can suggest is that you guys remain friends since you were close."

My breath hitched, "Friends with Jake? How can you say that, after what I have been through with him? How can you be so selfish and cruel?" I spat coldly.

She knitted her brows, "Chloe, calm yourself. Let's not do this here. Let's go inside and talk." she peeked outside the house while she reached out to touch my arm, but I slapped her hand away. I pushed her back and stepped into her house.

I wasn't going to be friends with her now that she stole my boyfriend.

I saw the rogues hiding behind the corner, waiting for my signal. I smiled and nodded at them. They nodded back and got ready to attack.

"Friends? Do you think I want to be friends with my man? Do you think I'm here to talk? No, Jess, I'm not here to talk. I'm here to end this. I'm here to end you."

I pulled out the gun I was given and pointed it at her chest. She screamed and tried to run, but it was too late. The rogues came out of their hiding place and grabbed her. They pinned her down and held her still. She struggled and kicked, but they were too strong for her. She looked at me with fear and disbelief in her eyes. She begged me to stop, to spare her, to forgive her. But I didn't listen. I didn't care. I pulled the trigger and shot her in the heart. She gasped and went limp. She was dead.

I felt a rush of satisfaction and relief. I had done it. I had killed her. I had avenged my love for Jake.

I had won like I always did.

I looked away from her body and at the rogue leader. He smiled and gave me a thumbs-up.

He told his men to wrap her body in a blanket and take it to the car. He told me to follow him. He said he would take care of the rest. He said he was proud of me. He said I was a good customer.

I followed him, feeling numb and empty. I had done what I came to do, but I didn't feel happy. I didn't feel anything. I wondered if it was worth it. I wondered if Jake would ever love me if he found out I did this to Jess.

I wondered if I would ever feel anything again. I wondered if I had made a mistake.

But it was too late to wonder. It was too late to change anything. It was too late to go back. I had crossed a line, and there was no turning back. I had become a killer of a fellow packmate, and I had to live with it.

I jumped into the car with the rogues and sped away, leaving behind a trail of chaos. I felt a surge of adrenaline and regret. Oh goddess, what have I done?

They dropped me off by my car and I drove back to my house, hoping to find some peace and quiet as the parting crowd had now dispersed.

I ran to my room, but before I could reach it, my father surprisingly grabbed me by the arm dragged me to his office, and slammed the door shut.

"Chloe, what have you done?" He slammed his fist on the desk, his face red with fury.

I trembled in fear, not knowing how to explain myself.

Did he know what I had done?
