Chapter 1

Allena's POV

I am wondering as I walked inside the forest that was unfamiliar to me. Well, how could this forest be familiar to me when I have never entered a forest even once? Ever since I live in a city where you can only see huge malls and tall buildings and there's no forest here. We have a lot of trees around the city but they can't be considered a forest. So I wonder why I am here inside a forest. How did I get here? I don't remember coming here by myself.

I'm confused and at the same time I feel fear but I continued walking in the hope that I would reach the end of the forest and get out of this scary place. I've walked a long way but the path I'm walking seems endless.

"Mom? Dad? Peter? Where are you guys?" I loudly called my parents and younger brother. But no matter how loud my voice is, no one answered me.

I suddenly stopped walking when I felt like someone was following me. My heart beats so fast because of nervousness. I'm all alone here and no one can help if a wild animal attacks me. My eyes widened in fear as a monstrous female worm suddenly appeared at my back. It has long hair but no face. It has two human-like hands and a very long body. The other parts of its body are still buried in the ground because of its extreme length.

"Give me your face!" the monster worm suddenly speaks to me and then rushed at me. I screamed while dodging her attack and then I ran quickly.

"Mom! Dad! Help me!" I shouted again, hoping that they would hear my voice and save me from this terrifying creature that chasing me.

"Give me your face! I need your face!" screamed the female monster worm then suddenly its head poked into the ground behind me so I was thrown in the air.

"Help! Help me!" I almost cried as my body fell to the ground. I was suddenly stunned when I felt strong energy coming in front of me. And when I raised my face I saw a man inside a color sky-blue fire-like cage. His eye was closed while his hands, feet, and neck were tied with ropes same as the color of the cage. And I saw a glowing arrow stuck in his chest too.

The man looked strange to me. He has long red-orange hair and small dog-like ears on both sides of his head. He was wearing a white long sleeve and the bottom was also white which looked like jogging pants but I knew it wasn't. I can't say the exact description of his clothing because I have never seen such kind of style of clothes in my entire life. But I'm sure that his clothes are not from a different era because I have seen clothes from a different era in a book and it's not like the one in front of me.

I couldn't help but stare at the man's face whose eyes were closed and seemed lifeless. Even with his eyes closed, I could tell that he was handsome when he was alive. Because he has beautiful and perfect eyebrows, long eyelashes, and a cute nose. His lips are a bit pale. Maybe because he's dead. I couldn't help but think about what kind of sin did he commit that they locked him in this kind of cage? It seems that the person who locked him made sure that he can't comes out from this cage. But how could he come out when he was already dead?

"Give me your face," the female monster spoke to me again, which I forgot for a moment when I saw the imprisoned man. When the monster rushed at me again, I stood up quickly and entered the cage without hesitation, and hug the man.

I was amazed that I suddenly got inside this strange cage. I didn't get burned and I easily entered the strange cage though I could see the grills blocking the way. I slightly moved away from the man I was hugging when I felt his body suddenly become hot. And in a minute, he suddenly opened his eyes and then smiled at me when he saw me.

"Finally you have come to me, Sabina," the man spoke to me. It seems that he mistook me for someone he knew. I saw his two fangs on both sides above his teeth when he smiled at me. Why does he have fangs? Is he a vampire? But he doesn't look like the vampires I watch on television. And who is Sabina?  Why did he call me Sabina when that's not my name? I was about to speak to ask who he was and why he called me Sabina but suddenly he slowly disappeared in front of me. "Wait! Don't leave me here!

I suddenly opened my eyes and discovered that what happened was just a dream because I was inside my new room and lying in my bed. I thought that was real because it didn't seem like a dream at all. The monster worm woman that chased me seems real. And every scene in my dream feels so real.

"Allena? Are you already awake?"

I turned around in bed when I heard my mother's loud voice outside the door of my room. I immediately got up from the bed and opened the door.

"Yes, Mom. I'm sorry, I just woke up. I felt sleepy so I just slept for a few minutes after cleaning my room," I answered her and quickly apologized after opening the door.

"It's okay, sweetheart," she smiled at me. "Can you please help Peter to clean his room? There are lots of things piled up in his room so he's having a hard time cleaning it. Put the things he won't use downstairs. There's a small storage house outside the house so put the things that will no longer be useful in that storage," my mom ordered me.

"Yes, Mom," I answered quickly.  We just moved into this new house. My mom inherited this house from her dad who just passed away months ago so she and dad decided that we should live here instead of renting an expensive condo or an apartment. Besides, our new house is close to our new school and market so we won't have any trouble going to school and mom can quickly buy our food without hassle because of traffic.

After my mom left I quickly went to my brother's room and help him to clean his room.  In my room, there wasn't much to clean so I slept on the bed after I cleaned the room. I felt very sleepy earlier so I slept for a while.

I helped Peter put away the things from his room that he wouldn't use such as the old human-sized mirror that I saw in the corner. It was dusty with a little crack above and just stocked up in the corner of the room.

"Are you still going to use this big mirror, Peter?" I asked my brother while holding the human-sized mirror in my hands although I know that he was not going to use it.

"No, Sister. That's old and has a crack on it," Peter answered quickly.

"Alright. I'll just keep this in the storage house downstairs."

I went downstairs carrying the old mirror and put it in the storage house that my mom told me about earlier. I just put the mirror in a standing position on the wall so that other things wouldn't run over it and completely break it. I was about to leave the storage house when I suddenly stop because something lit up on my neck. When I looked in the old mirror my forehead furrowed when I saw a necklace with a pendant of white fangs around my neck. I wondered why I'm wearing a necklace when I don't have one. I don't remember having a necklace, especially this kind of necklace. It looks so old though its white is clear. My eyes suddenly widened when a strong force slowly suck me into the old mirror. I felt panicked so I called my parents and younger brother for help.

"Mom! Dad! Peter! Help me!" I screamed before I was completely sucked inside the old mirror.
