Anna's POV

I woke up that morning with a sense of unease lingering in the pit of my stomach. The air felt heavy, as if a storm was brewing just beyond the horizon. Little did I know that the tempest was about to descend upon my life, threatening to shatter the fragile peace we had fought so hard to achieve.

As I entered Blackwood Enterprises, the polished marble floors echoed with the click of my heels. The usual hustle and bustle of the office seemed subdued, an undercurrent of tension palpable in the air. My eyes darted around, searching for any signs of trouble.

And then I saw her. Lisa Harrison, Victor's business rival, standing by his office door. Her sleek figure and predatory smile sent a chill down my spine. There was something about her that always made my instincts go on high alert.

"Anna, there you are," she purred, her voice dripping with false sweetness. "Victor is waiting for you in his office. He asked to see you immediately."
