Chapter Six

They hurriedly took her car to the hospital and inquired about Junior's whereabouts then went up to his ward. Junior was lying still on the spring bed with an intravenous drip connected to the veins on his wrist. Amanda stared at the poor state of his appearance on his navy blue and sky blue uniform and sweat beads all over his pores. She kept rubbing her abdomen and pacing about worriedly until she decided to take a seat.

She sat at the end of his bed while Jude took a seat close to the cupboard by the head. The only sound that diluted the air were those from the heart rate monitor and each beep gave off the affirmation that her son was still alive.

She started the talk and chose to break the silence by asking if Jude really meant what he had told her earlier.
