As I contemplated going into her room to teach her a lesson after she went to the party, I received a call from Brian.

“You don’t know when to call Brian,” I said sounding angry at Brian.

“What do you mean” Brian asked

“Never mind. Why are you calling me at this ungodly hour?” I asked him trying to change the topic.

“There’s a problem Sean….”

“Problem? What do you mean there’s a problem, did something happen at the office?” I asked almost immediately. I’ve known Brian for years and I can tell this is serious from his tone.

“The board members have fixed a date to make Anthony the CEO, they said you aren’t ready to settle down and they needed someone serious to take over and Anthony appeared to be the best fit,” Brian explained.

“No! I can’t let that happen. I’ve worked so hard to get that company to where it is now,” I snapped. “They can’t possibly give my father’s company to Anthony.” I sounded angry.
