Chapter 40

She said to let go of the nightmares, and not forget. Let go. That was a very realistic thing to say and Lucien found comfort in those words. He would never forget that night and he'd been keeping that memory since that very night. Like a pest, it's been coming back, visiting him in his sleep, making him remember the horrendous tragedy he witnessed.

He blamed himself for that tragedy. He blamed himself for being a coward shxt, for being weak and unable to do anything helpful when his family was suffering at the hands of those bastards.

His family were always been proud of him because he was smart and gifted. But his knowledge couldn't do anything when they were being killed. The only thing he could do that night was to hide and watch them die one by one.

The memory was still fresh like it just happened yesterday. The screams of his mom and his grandparents. How his father and older brother tried to fight back. How the sharp knife stabbed his mother's stomach and back multiple times.
