Chapter 78

Adler wrapped his arms around Franklyn, leading him away from the room. The muffled screams of the hostages echoed in the hall, sending shivers down Franklyn's spine. "It's okay, Franklyn. You're safe now," Adler murmured, his voice a soothing hum in the tense atmosphere. But little did he know his presence was also intimidating the younger.

Adler never stopped his comforting words. Whispering soothing words, Adler made his way out of the base with Franklyn.

They stepped out into the cool air, surrounded by lush greenery. Franklyn's breath came out in shallow gasps, the fresh air a welcome relief from the suffocating stench of blood and fear.

He leaned against a tree, trying to steady his trembling legs, still having a shock playing over his heart. "I can still hear them. The screams... they won't stop," Franklyn whispered, his voice strained with emotion. Choking now and then, he couldn't form a word at all.
