CHAPTER FOUR

ALISTAIR:

A smirk played on my lips as her cheeks reddened with embarrassment. Even though she couldn't bring herself to admit it, I sensed a hint of relief in her. As I wrapped the coat around her, I gently released my hold on her waist, but she remained still.

I raised an eyebrow, taken aback by her unexpected reaction. I had anticipated a punch coming my way, but it never came. Instead, her gaze bore into mine, as if trying to peer into my soul. Initially, she appeared lost, but suddenly, anger replaced her confusion, and before I could react...

*Slap!*

A sharp sting coursed through me from the impact of her slap. As I looked at her, all I could think was how remarkably bold and audacious she was. It wasn't annoyance that I felt; on the contrary, I was intrigued and fascinated. Throughout my life, I had been treated like royalty, and almost everyone had feared me, doing everything to stay on my good side. Yet, this stranger was an exception.

"What was that for?" I complained, but she simply glared at me.

"Never call me desperate again," she warned, clutching onto my coat.

I shook my head, finding her confidence quite amusing. I wondered how she'd react when she discovered my true identity. For some reason, I felt like she wouldn't act any differently, even if she knew who I was.

"You know," I began, rubbing my throbbing cheek, "for a lady, you can throw a mean slap."

"Do you think I'd fall for your charms just because you gave me your coat?" she retorted, and I couldn't help but smirk. I was beginning to like her.

"So, you admit I'm good-looking?" I teased.

"Only a fool would think you are," she replied and I chuckled.

"What's your name?" I asked.

"Chloe," she hesitantly replied.

"Tell me, Chloe," I interrupted, approaching her and closing the gap between us, "Tell me you didn't wish I was the one who had confronted you. Tell me you didn't wish I had been the one to make you feel something."

She froze, her eyes locked with mine. A smile played on my lips as her mouth opened and closed without a word. Nervously, she swallowed and continued to stare at me, confirming my hunch.

"I'd rather pick a monkey over you," she finally said, and I chuckled as she made her way towards the exit.

"Follow me. I'll find you some new clothes," I assured her. She hesitated at first but eventually sighed in surrender and took my extended hand. Together, we left the restroom and walked down the hallway, the sounds of music growing louder as we moved. I stopped at the elevator and pressed the button.

"What's your name?" she asked once we were inside.

"Why?" I replied, glancing at the button and then at her. I couldn't help but smile.

"Well, I shared my name with you, so it's only fair I know yours," she said, and I smiled, briefly tearing my gaze away.

"Where did you mention you're from?" I inquired, noticing her momentary hesitation and wondering if she had crashed my party.

"Is your name truly Alistair?" she questioned, clearly avoiding mine.

"Oh, that?" I replied as the elevator doors opened. "That's just a monkey’s name."

"You're being sarcastic, aren't you?" she asked once more.

"Yes, I am."

We soon arrived at one of the hotel's suites, the presidential suite, one of the finest in the establishment. Stepping into the room, I closed the door behind us and, with a quick double clap of my hands, the lights illuminated the space. She gazed around in amazement, her attention captivated by the breathtaking view from the suite's windows.

The hotel had 44 floors, and we were on the top one. She approached the window and peered out, taking in the sprawling cityscape below. Meanwhile, I headed to the bar section, retrieved a bottle of vodka, and poured myself a drink.

"Who are you?" she asked, her back turned to me, and I smiled.

"Alistair Levon," I replied, and she turned with a look of astonishment.

"You're the son of the late Mr. Rodrick Levon?" she inquired, and I nodded.

Being the son of a billionaire came with its privileges, but it often felt like a burden. I had everything I wanted, and my name commanded fear and respect. My father had ensured that. I never really liked it and had trouble finding anyone who treated me as an equal.

"Take your left; there's a bathroom for your shower and a bed for you to sleep in," I told her, causing her to whip her head toward me in surprise.

"What?" she asked, clearly taken aback.

"What?"

A frown creased her face. "That's not what we discussed. You said you'd provide me with some clothes to change into and then I'd be on my way."

"Did I?" I replied, rubbing my chin. "Well, I've already requested the staff to bring you new clothes, but unfortunately, they won't arrive until tomorrow. If you don't want to wait, I can arrange for a chauffeur to take you home to your parents, and I might visit you sometime," I suggested, smirking slightly.

"On second thought, I've changed my mind. I'll stay," she decided.

"Here, sir," an attendant said as she entered the room with a tray of food and placed it on the table. "Is there anything else I can assist you with?" she inquired.

"No, thank you," I replied with a smile, causing her to leave with a slight blush.

I turned my attention to the sound of approaching footsteps, and Chloe entered the room, dressed in a sheer red silk nightgown. She appeared visibly uncomfortable, tugging at the hem of the short dress.

"Is this what you give to every lady who spends the night with you?" she asked, her face showing a slight frown as she adjusted the hem of the nightgown.

"Are you jealous?" I teased.

"Of course not!"

"Then there's nothing to worry about, is there?" I responded, making her frown again as her gaze returned to the dress.

Her long, black hair flowed over her shoulders, and the dress accentuated her curves, making her look truly beautiful. As I watched her, I couldn't help but wonder what her lips tasted like and how her skin would feel to the touch.

"If you're hungry, help yourself," I offered, but she hesitated, looking at me with suspicion.

"If I wanted to take advantage of you, I would have done it the moment you followed me here," I assured her, understanding her concerns. She nodded, and I removed my wristwatch, placing it on the table.

"Wait, isn't that a Hublot Big Bang wristwatch?" she inquired. “I heard it's worth over $5 million!"

I chuckled, glancing back at the watch. "No, this is a Graff Diamonds Hallucination wristwatch, and it's worth even more," I corrected her.

"Can I see it?" she asked, extending her hand. I passed it to her, and her fingers delicately traced the diamonds. The sparkle in her eyes revealed her amazement as she mumbled something inaudible.

"Did you say something?" I inquired, and she shook her head, denying it, before returning the watch to me.

"Well, I'm not hungry. I need to get some sleep," she stated, heading for the bed. I followed behind her, which seemed to make her uncomfortable.

"Don't worry, you won't even notice I'm here," I assured her, and she nodded. I could feel a bulge within my pants and despite the desire stirring within me, I resisted the urge to act on it immediately.

"Thank you for rescuing me earlier," she said as she settled onto the bed, facing away from me. I didn't respond but lay down beside her.
